Enjoyable stay in Shawano
Publié le 19 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThe 'Cottage by the Beach' was perfect. The house is updated, clean and everything that you need is available. The location is perfect, across from a campground, clean beach and you are able to walk near the lake. This was my first time to Shawano, I will defiantly be back. ]

The perfect location
Publié le 9 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWow! One of the best rentals we have stayed in. Clean, fully stocked, updated cottage right next to the county park. It was so nice to be so close to the park, beach, snack shack - especially with a baby and toddler as we could walk and not have to load them up in car seats all the time! The host was incredibly responsive and even provided a pack n play and booster seat! The cottage is also well stocked with toiletries, kitchen basics, and good coffee & creamer! There were ample blankets, pillows, towels, beach towels, etc. The street this is on was very quiet (during the week) which put my mind at ease allowing our toddler to play in the front yard. While we didn’t use it, it was nice that the cottage also had a fire ring & a gas grill! We will definitely look to stay here again as we visit the area a couple times per year!

Perfect location to this cute cottage

Location was perfect and cottage was updated, great condition, and had lots of everyday things you might need. Owner was great, very responsive. We appreciate our stay and hope to come back in the future!

Cute Shawano Cottage

nice cottage
Publié le 29 nov. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe were here in Nov so the beach proximity, etc didn't matter, but it was easy and quick to get to town where my son's wedding was. There were plenty of towels, coffee, creamer & tea options, and the furnace kept the cottage nice and warm. The welcome binder was great, very useful. The room with the bunk bed was much smaller than the pictures looked, but it was fine.

Awesome Location, Very Clean

Alot different in Shawano than Door County
Publié le 30 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe cottage is just that, but it has some updating to do compared to what we are used to. The air conditioning went out while we were gone most of the day on Saturday. I was not aware that the owners phone number was listed on a binder in the entry so we could not contact them. Her response was no Problems they got it fixed before the next renters most likely today. It was 79 degrees all day Saturday and when we were leaving this AM. when we were premier owners, we listed it with our welcoming email just in case something happened. The furnace in the living room China cabinet was a unique touch. But judging from her response they are only interested in the next rental and future return stays might not cross their mind. The no problems we got it fixed tells the whole story. We had times when older folks could not work the TV or get connected to the Internet, we were there to help them out not just waiting for the next rental.

Jeff, I am sorry you were disappointed in your stay. I understand you believe we have some updating to do and we will continue to make updates to the cottage in the future. The pictures upon booking show exactly what is to be expected. In regards to the air conditioning situation, we would have had it fixed had we been notified. In one of my first messages, I stated there was a welcome binder on the table with information you would need. The front cover states both my husband and my phone numbers for any questions or issues. When I arrived at the cottage to clean, I noticed the front door unlocked and your message about the air conditioning on the white board and immediately sent you a message that stated, “I am very sorry about the air conditioning! I wish you would have said something, we would have fixed it!” After you mentioned you didn’t have our phone number and could not get connected with VRBO and that you didn’t think we could have it repaired on a Saturday was when I replied that it was no problem and we were able to get it fixed for our next renters because I do care about you and all of our past and future renters.
