Sisters get away
Publié le 7 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat place! Loved the pier for fishing...even caught a northern! Amazing sunset view over the lake. And great deck for looking at the stars...great place to relax and reset. It was too cold to go in the water, we may revisit to do that next summer. House was clean and comfortable.

Publié le 15 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe can’t say enough good about this lovely home and the hosts. We had an entire family with an infant, toddler, teens and grandparents. Both the host and home were overly accommodating. The lake access and views are spectacular. Will 100% stay again.

Excellent lake house
Publié le 9 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was an amazing lake house, and great for a big group. Large open living space for everyone to gather and enjoy time together. Super easy check in process and great communication with the owners. Could not recommend this place enough for groups or family’s.

End of Summer Family Vacation

There was plenty of room for the 4 of us, and we could have brought many more people with us. They had everything we needed to cook all of our meals, the only thing we couldn't find was a marshmallow roaster, but we didn't check the shed. We rented a pontoon boat from American Marine, and enjoyed spending our days floating away on the lake. There was a lot of seaweed so we weren't able to swim from the dock, but it was great to tie up the pontoon and watch the sunsets. There is a Wal-Mart and Aldi just down the road and the downtown was cute with some nice shops.
This was our first time on Shawano Lake so we didn't realize the houses were all so close to each other- it wasn't overly busy and the neighbors were nice though.

We do clear the seaweed from most of the lakefront for swimming, but we leave some around the front of the dock because the fish love it 🐟, which makes for great fishing! We're so glad you found everything you needed and got to explore the area. We'd love to welcome you back to Shawano Lake anytime! 😊

Our shawano vaca
Publié le 19 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe’ve never had so much room and we’ve been renting cottages all over the state since the mid 90’s. We had room for our yard games. Could easily get in touch with the hosts. Only issue was kids couldn’t play at the shoreline because of the mucky sand. But we took boat etc off shore a bit. They also loved the fishing off of the dock.

Thank you for the lovely review, Marsha! Yes, we feel like there is so much room in the house with the open concept and are so lucky to have that to share. Sorry that the sand didn’t work out for your kiddos. Our kids (ages 5 and 3) love our shoreline and don’t mind it at all. All about preferences 💙💙 but that is why we use a muck racker and personally clean up the shoreline, so everyone can enjoy the water.

So many things to do in all weather!

The weather was not as cooperative this time, but we had plenty to do with all the games, large TV for movie time, fire pit, and all the outside amenities when the weather was nice enough to hang out by the lake. The location is perfect for sunsets and bird watching. Loved it!

Wonderful stay!
Publié le 10 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThis cottage was by far the best we've stayed at in the area. The owners thought ahead to the needs of the renters,from toys to coffee filters.
The only thing missing were directions to the TV and thermostat for the technically challenged. (us)
Would go there again!!!!

Lakefront Retreat

Great cabin

The only negative was the airflow upstairs was unbearable & made it very uncomfortable for everyone who was sleeping upstairs. Neighbors were super friendly on both sides & the location for watching sunsets made it truly amazing!

Thanks for the review, Sara! We are so happy you had a great second stay with us. So sorry about the heat. I’m sure that was rough being the hottest day of the year in the 90s and in the humidity. Those scorching days are great for swimming but not sleeping. 🔥
