No food

Publié le 17 nov. 2017 sur Hotels
After an 8 hour train journey, being told that they didn't do food was just what I wanted to hear.

Clean, quiet, out of the way, but no facilities.

Ten minutes from A1, a good spot for being out of the way. Biggest downside is away from local amenities. The hotel and grounds looking tired and needs some TLC. Reasonable value for money.

Room was not what I expected.

Publié le 15 oct. 2017 sur Expedia
Pour : The staff were very nice and helpful. They made up for the poor quality of the room.
Contre : Put the keys on a piece of plastic.
Emplacement : Location was good for me visiting friends that lived nearby. Looks like it would be good for golfers.
Room key was on a clanky piece of metal that no matter what you did clanked loudly so you knew when other guests were opening their doors or simply walking down the corridor keys in hand. Room needed updating badly. Bathroom door was difficult to open and close.

Small portioned complimentary breakfast

Publié le 21 sept. 2017 sur Expedia
Pour : Spacious, comfortable room
Contre : Breakfast offer. Poor Wi-Fi signal
Nice stay but complimentary breakfast is mean spirited as includes 1 small rasher of bacon, fried egg, small sausage, half a tomato and only 1 round of toast. If you want the "full English" have to pay an extra £3 ! Refused to pay on principle. They need to get real and move with the times as Pemier Inn and Travelodge offer unlimited breakfast. I and a lot of my fellow travellers have no time for lunch and when I am on the road a proper breakfast lasts me until the evening.

East of Dresden springs to mind

Publié le 18 sept. 2017 sur Expedia
Pour : Nothing
Contre : Accommodation building needs refurbishing.
The accommodation is in a separate building from reception and restaurant on the other side of a pot holed, muddy car park; going to breakfast in the pouring rain was not good. Rooms are accessed via dark, smelly corridors, our room was basic but clean. There was a huge stain and crack on the ceiling in the bedroom with signs of water ingress. Generally the decoration was tired and in need of refurbishment. The housekeeping staff were helpful and friendly. Our booking included Continental breakfast but we were told "we don't do continental breakfast ". We were only staying one night but would not have stayed any longer and will not return.

After a mix up with rooms, we asked for a twin and was given a double????????????, we were given an extra bed as the hotel was fully booked that night and then given a family room the night after when the hotel was quieter, service was Ok, could do with updating, shame as its in a nice location

Strange

Publié le 5 févr. 2012 sur Hotels
The room was beautifully set up but, when you enter the hotel there are no signs to tell you where the rooms are! You are confronted by conference facilities, toilets etc etc but no indication of where your rooms are. The bathroom door didn't fit properly so could not be locked and, importantly, no grab handles for the shower/bath. The walls are thin and your neighbours become part of the stay. The staff were friendly and helpful but the overall impression is this is an hotel which hasn't got it's act fully together as yet. Still, a beautiful place and room to spend time in

Beadlow Manor - for golf or between major roads M1

Publié le 16 janv. 2012 sur Hotels
Reception in golf pro shop/building - totally separate from hotel. Sign not seen until cases out of car and into the building. Not good on a very cold evening. Man on reception very helpful, especially when tv would not "boot up". Member of staff resolved quickly. Room comfortable with a good ambience and period feel.
