Publié le 20 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayGorgeous skies, surf, and sand; and an unobstructed 180 degree view of horizon. Didn't use the hot tub on the deck but saw that it was maintained. Could have happily stayed a month. Cherry Point market was fabulous and close--recommend the strudels.

Publié le 6 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat property and experience. You can’t get any closer to Lake Michigan without getting wet. Beautiful views on the wrap around deck and from within the house. Lovely home, lots of room, lots of beach and lots of waves. Perfect beach house. Gracious and responsive owners.
Reasonably priced for such a lovely home and the best views of any beach house in the area (I know, I did a lot of beach walks and this house was the closet to the water’s edge and had the best views). 5 Star +++

Best 50th Birthday Weekend
Publié le 18 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayHad probably the best birthday weekend ever. The location, view and proximity to the beach were outstanding. The sand on the beach was so fine and smooth. Hearing the waves while you slept was the best. I've stayed at a lot of VRBOs and this was the best equipped kitchen I've ever seen. Mary was very responsive when I had to reach out to her. I hope to stay here again!

Excellent all around
Publié le 16 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had several family members with 4 generations staying throughout the week. The place was well stocked with kitchen items, towels, beach towels and bedding. Beds were comfortable due to mattress toppers and extra pillows and blankets. There was plenty of space inside and outside. We most enjoyed the large deck area as some in our family weren't able to climb the 20 or so steps to the beach. They could see everyone playing on the beach, enjoy the wonderful sunsets and enclosed fire pit, swing in the hammock as well as eat most of our meals on the spacious outdoor tables. We used the gas grill to make burgers one night and enjoyed the clean hot tub every night! Three full bathrooms, one on each of the 3 levels, were an added plus to this cottage. We're looking to book again for next year!

Simply paradise

There is nothing more soothing than the sound of the waves hitting the shore. Long walks on the beach and beautiful sunsets. Mary is always quick to respond and takes extra special care of any situations. This place is a gem!

Kind of surprised!
Publié le 4 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwaySomewhat disappointed. The furnishings were very old and felt dirty as did the kitchen floor. There were no lounge chairs on the deck and no cushions to sit on making it hard to enjoy and the beautiful deck and view. The grassy area hadn’t been cut in months and the deck was covered with debris from trees due to a storm. It took 3 days to get jt cleaned up and once they did it was fine. Lastly one of the sliding glass doors wouldn’t lock presenting a security problem at night and when we went out. Our belongings and the owners property were at risk. Definitely not worth what we paid to stay there.

So sorry you were disappointed - one of the Andersen sliding door latches had snapped off before your stay, and it is difficult to replace fast because of the lead time required to order this item. A piece of wood had been cut to fit the sill, for use at night or when leaving the house, but it was somehow discarded before you arrived. So we had a handyman cut any other one for the sill while you were there. Regarding the native grass on the property, it’s ordinarily quite dry and short all summer long. But we had an exceedingly wet, warm spring and it grew much faster than usual. Then, with your arrival on Father’s Day, it was very hard to get it mowed more quickly than the Tuesday of your weeklong stay. Again, I’m sorry that you were disappointed.

You really were troopers! There was a major storm with a tornado that touched down in Whitehall, about 15 miles away, and it took down lots of trees and power lines. Thanks for being intrepid guests!
