Cozy Cabin

Week long get away
Publié le 13 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayEverything was perfect! This was a nice quit getaway, had no issues. Master bedroom bed was very comfortable, living room chairs and couch’s were very comfortable! Kitchen had everything we needed to make meals each day! Omg the water pressure in the show was amazing! I will be rebooking this cabin next year. Only one wish, wish we could have brought our dog, I week with out her is to long.

I am so sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I wish you had reached out. Trash bags are stored in the cabinet in the dining room, we order them in bulk and try to keep at least 50 in stock at all times. We had to remove the exterior trash can as bears and other wildlife were ruining a can a week during spring and summer months and leaving the trash spread throughout the yard. Had you reached out to us someone would have either picked up your trash or had you place it in the end bay of the garage with the latch. The lawn was mowed the Saturday preceiding and following your stay, we are unable to cut the lawn extra short as the sandy soil an naturally dry growth makes it extra susceptible to scorching or catching fire during the dry months.
As stated in the listing this is an old trappers cabin relocated out of the national park and as a result it does have an old cabin smell that no amount of scrubbing will remove. It is definetely old but holds decades of stories and love and we hope it traps decades more in the future.
Again, i am very sorry you had a poor experience.

Great location near Pictured Rocks
Publié le 3 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was a stay for my husband, adult daughter and son-in-law visiting the area on Labor Day Weekend for local waterfalls and hiking. The house is located just one minute from the road that leads to the Mosquito Falls/Chapel Falls Loop, which was one of the hikes we planned to do. We stayed for three nights.
This house was just what we needed for our stay. Pros include location, newer appliances, fairly well-stocked kitchen, clean bedding and towels, large living room with comfy furniture, Smart TV that had every channel we wanted and the house was priced well for a holiday weekend.
Cons include a loose bathroom barn door that closes only somewhat with a hook, sloping floors and some cleaning neglect under furniture. There was also no direction for closing up the house, which is unusual for a VRBO property. I just did what is usually requested and stripped the beds, did a quick wipe-down of the kitchen, did the dishes and left the garbage bagged up in the kitchen (there were no outdoor bins). A checklist on the fridge or in an email would have been helpful. To be fair, I could have emailed the property manager, but we were so busy I just didn't get to it.
For a weekend stay where we just needed a place to sleep, a full kitchen for meals and lounge area for the evenings it worked well. I would stay here again if looking in the area.

Great little place
Publié le 4 août 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat little place to stay. Close enough to everything but far enough from the crowds that can accumulate in town. There were no directions on what to do with bedding and such… that’s really the only thing that was missing. A little more direction on clean up.
