We are located just 25 miles from Lassen Volcanic National Park, described by Sunset Magazine as "the best kept secret in the National Parks" and hosting hiking, nordic skiing, snow-shoeing, fishing, boating, and swimming in the brisk mountain lakes. You won't want to miss the beautiful and fascinating geothermal features such as boiling mud pots and fragrant (!) sulfur vents. Also in the area, Mount Shasta offers a snowboard and ski park plus hiking and other outdoor actives year-round. While in the area you also will want to check out Burney Falls, Subway Caves, McCloud Falls, Whiskeytown Lake, Lake Shasta, and the Sundial Bridge over the Sacramento River in the city of Redding - all are day-trip close. Right in Shingletown you can enjoy Lake McCumber, Grace Lake, and Nora Lake. The town also provides restaurants, a bar, grocery stores, and gas stations to serve your every need.
Pets: There is a $30 charge per trip for one or two well behaved dogs. You will be able to check that option when you book.
Dogs may not be left unattended in the cottage unless in a crate. Outdoors dogs must be leashed and attended at all times.
Be aware, pets are not allowed on the trails in Lassen National Park, though they are welcome at many other nearby locations. There is a reputable dog sitter service that will come to the cottage and dog sit for you if you want to take a trip to Lassen and leave your pup at the cottage. I'm not allowed to post their website here, so ask me, and I'll share it with you.
Sorry, no cats allowed at the cottage.
EV Charging : We have outlets in the carport for charging you electric vehicle. The fee for charging EVs is $10 the first night, and $5 per night after that. Please tell me when you book if you will be charging your EV at the cottage.
