Lovely getaway from Lusaka

A Great Lodge for a Quite Stay
Publié le 31 oct. 2016 sur HotelsThis is a lovely quiet lodge in a out of the way location - up to 4 hours by bus from Lusaka - and 70 kwacha taxi ride from the village. Rooms are nice and on the lakeside where there are boat trips to see the Dam and other sights. Do take a taxi to see the Dam and walk across it - to the Zimbabwean side - all very friendly and informal!

Pour : Friendly welcome and helpful staff.
Sufficient equipment for self catering, but bring your supplies.
Contre : The bins by our rooms could have been emptied daily. Dirty nappies!!
Emplacement : Not much to do nearby. Just enjoy the pool time. Plenty of shade around it.
The clean swimming pool and air conditioning deal effectively with the excessive heat in late October. Wonderful.
Bird and hippo watching very entertaining. Fridges in the room are excellent.

Pour : Swimming pool and clean, comfortable, air conditioned rooms
Contre : Outdoor seats are not very comfortable - possibly a cushion could help. Cooked breakfast really good but only cornflakes as cereal and yoghurt ran out
Emplacement : On shores of Lake Kariba. Boat trips, fishing, birding, visiting dam.
We visited with our son and his family in mid October and were worried about the heat. However, the efficient air conditioning and well maintained pool made this visit a delight. We spent our days in the pool or in the shady areas near it. Our young grandsons loved it and the baby pool was deep enough for them to enjoy but safe as the younger one tried to swim without buoyancy aids. The built in BBQ system is also child friendly as the fire is well out of reach of children. Thank you Eagles rest for a wonderful stay.

Pour : bed was comfortable
Contre : Many spiders in room, could have been cleaned better.
Arrived at dark, had to change rooms... No Internet service.
