Hi Jennifer thank you for staying and taking the time to review our property, you were a fantastic guest and I am glad you enjoyed your stay. lightbulbs are not burned out, as the upstairs rooms has a ceiling light with fans so they contain 2 pull strings at the base of the light but they are also controlled by the light switches on the wall, often guests will turn off the lights using the pull string at the fan, but leave the fan on, which then causes the switch to turn on the fan but not the light as no one pulled the light string, pulling the light string would turn them back on, you did not mention this during your stay I would have explained to you that it is likely the pull string is turned off for the light function, we will note this to the cleaner to make sure she always turn the light switch on to make sure the previous guest didn’t use the pull to turn off light so other guests don’t confuse this. The firewood there is for decoration of the property, the property details states wood is not included - but you booked(if you know it’s not included but decide to book don’t then mention it as a issue in your review as you chose to proceed with a booking knowing this, it’s disappointing and unfair to mention this as a issue since you knowingly booked this property), none of the rentals in the area have wood included - this is for numerous reasons - we don’t know what people will burn, wood is extremely expensive and we would need to adjust our pricing to compensate for wood costs which would be unfair to those who don’t use much, vs. Those who do, and we would not be able to gauge what would be fair - that said we include many other things like propane for example canoes kayaks and paddleboard. That said a guest requesting to use our wood for additional fee would be permitted. Summer actually is not much busier this cottage is the only rental in the area, the rest are all owners, we’re lucky is usually very quiet in all seasons. Sorry you didn’t get to see nature (I’m assuming animals), maybe next time! Your feedback is valuable and thank you because I can apply it forward, your welcome back anytime.

Thank you so much for your kind words. You were fantastic to host, and you left the property in great/clean condition. This home does not have AC, it has a bit of complicated heating system which runs water lines underground to heat the home geothermal (which for winter months keeps the house soooo warm and cozy, and you never wake up to cold floors), so we don’t have a furnace to hook up AC to, and I just hate the look of the big bulky ones that attach to windows. However, we are exploring our options for next year, and have had a contractor come out to see what we can do in the future. In the meantime We have added some additional fans. ☺️ I’m glad you got to enjoy the paddle boards, kayaks and canoe. You were fantastic guests, and we only hope to have the opportunity to host you again! 🤗
