Arrived wet and cold having walked 20 miles and reception immediately said they’d turn up the heating in our room to dry out our coats and boots
Went down for dinner and food was very nice and tasty

Historic Cosy Inn
Publié le 23 juill. 2024 sur HotelsMy husband and I had a nice stay in this historical old inn right off of the town square in Grassington. Due to its age, the rooms were quite small, but modernized and cosy. My only complaint is that we had booked a room with king bed (which some rooms did have), but our bed was definitely not a king. Other than that, the stay was fine. The pub/restaurant downstairs was very nice. The staff was lovely, if a bit busy. I am happy to recommend this inn as a good place to stay in Grassington. (Oh, there is no on-site parking, but we found parking right up the hill behind the Town Hall.)

Great place in the Dales

We hope to return.

good place for walking in Dales, recommend
Publié le 29 juin 2024 sur Hotelslooked after our bags whilst we went walking having arrived on the local bus around noon. some confusion regarding booking/table reservation which got sorted out quickly. narrow stairs to rooms, difficult with heavy bags, however room nice with comfortable beds and large bathroom with tub #8 - quiet inside & out, great choice of handpump beers, reasonable prices, best meal of six day trip in their restaurant- thoroughly recommended

Lovely pub

Terrible customer service

Checked in and presented with a pre order breakfast and advised that our choice would apply to all three days. Eventually reluctantly relented and told that we could have another form for a different breakfast choice
No pen in the room to fill out the form, duty manager told me that they no longer put pens in the room as they are stolen
The bath is not long enough to lay in if you are taller than 5’4”, there’s no storage in the bathroom and the taps are incorrectly plumbed to the basin
The mirrored wardrobe is positioned opposite a very bright bedside light and gives lots of glare
Front of house staff argued with me about various issues, it seems that the customer is always wrong in this hotel

We're sorry to see your written feedback, especially as during your husband's conversation with the Front of House Manager, he explained that what he said to her was purely feedback, not criticism and 90% of your issues from the night before were his fault. After reviewing all his conversations with the staff on CCTV, we noticed that each time they were trying to be as accommodating as possible. Our Front of House Manager could have done nothing more for both of you. After all, it was she who approached you on the first morning and then continued to speak to you at least once per day to make sure that you were happy with your stay. She has offered you to move rooms, which your husband has politely declined. You seemed pleased with everything; we're sad to hear this was not the case. It's not often that we receive such unfair reviews relating to our Team and the hotel. Upon your check-in, our waitress took the time to explain the breakfast ordering process to your husband and wished him a pleasant stay. We also provided the same information on your breakfast card and in the 'welcome book' in your room. If you had needed a pen to fill out your form, we would have been more than happy to provide one. We want to reiterate that we strive to ensure our guests have all the necessary information and resources for a comfortable stay. Many of our guests appreciate the unique charm of our building, including the 5ft long bath, which has never been an issue before. As a property developer, we understand that your husband may have certain expectations that cannot be met in a listed building with smaller bathrooms. The positioning of the taps has not been a concern raised by previous guests, and as far as we know, there is no UK law that dictates the side of the hot tap. In fact, over 20% of British homes have a cold tap on the left. We hope this clarifies the situation. To conclude our reply, we hope that none of our customers ever feel like they are always wrong. It is truly unfair to publicly criticise our Team and the hotel for such insignificant issues, especially as they went over and beyond for you and your husband.
