Recently renovated and under new property management, Blue Mountain Retreat is relaxing fall, winter, spring or summer. Located in the heart of Laurel Highlands within walking distance to Kooser State Park nestled between Hidden Valley, Seven Springs and Laurel Mountain ski resorts, this family and pet friendly cabin in the woods has everything you need to enjoy an outdoor getaway. Travelers have enjoyed this cozy home in the mountains as a solo rejuvenating escape for 1, a romantic getaway for 2, a family vacation, or a get together with friends/extended family.

Nearby attractions include hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, golfing, star gazing, bird watching, restaurants, spas and more. Enjoy the many trails and ponds nearby at Kooser (2 minute drive), Laurel Hill (7 minute drive) or Forbes (12 minute drive) State Parks. Bike the GAP trail at Rockwood just 15 minutes away. Check out the local resorts for food, golf, spas, ziplines, mountain biking, special events, skiing and more at Hidden Valley (5 minute drive), Seven Springs (17 minute drive), or Laurel Mountain (30 minute drive). Peruse the local towns of Somerset (15 minute drive), Ligonier (30 minute drive) or Ohiopyle (34 minute drive) for restaurants, shopping, white water rafting and trails. Even though you will feel like you are in the middle of the woods in a peaceful setting, if you forget anything a gas station/convenience store is only a 2 minute drive away and a grocery store is only a 20 minute drive away. Once you settle in, you will enjoy a backyard with a picnic table, gas grill, bonfire pit, and hot tub or the spacious kitchen and spa soaker tub in the first floor bathroom. Excellent WiFi service will help you stay connected to friends, family, and work (Gasp! Only if necessary...you should be relaxing!) or allow you to finally binge watch that series you always wanted to see. A variety of games, foosball, and darts will help you stay entertained and unplug from screens too!

3 bedrooms and 2 baths accommodates a maximum of 8 people and 2 well behaved, house trained dogs. There is an additional $30 per night pet fee when fur family joins you at the cabin. Please be sure to check the pet box when booking to pay during your reservation, or you will need to pay it before your arrival.

If you have additional people or pets in your party, please message to inquire about also renting Mountain Grove (with indoor treehouse kid gaming room also accommodating up to 8 people. See VRBO.com/3615517 ) adjacent to Blue Mountain Retreat. Multiple families have enjoyed renting both cabins for relaxing family reunions or birthday celebrations.

The location off of 31 makes it easily accessible year round, but far enough off the road to be peacefully tucked in the woods. A limit of 3 cars per cabin has to be maintained because there is no overflow parking available nearby (AWD or 4WD vehicles during the winter months of snow are required for ease of access). Visitors should be accounted for in your reservation.

Great cabin for staying just a few minutes from Hidden Valley which is perfect for young children. Also went to Seven Springs twice. Plenty of room in the mudroom to dry off gear and the hot tub was lovely. Would stay again!

We loved the Mountain house!
My family and I had a great time staying at the Blue Mountain house. It had everything we needed. We loved coming home from skiing and getting to use the hot tub. There was a closet with games, puzzles and toys which were fun for my 5 and 2 year old boys.

Weekend Seven Springs ski
Ski trip with our young adult boys. The place was nicer and bigger than we anticipated. Everything was clean and well taken care of. We greatly enjoyed the hot tub at night. Easy drive to Seven Springs. Skiing was great. Driveway was icy, not much owners could do. Communication was great with lots of local tips for food, etc.Definitely would return.

Cozy house with a really nice hot tube. Our family felt relaxed and at home here.
We rented the house to stay at while skiing at seven springs. It was a nice drive to and from the ski resort to the house. The mud room was great to keep all the ski gear. The hot tub eased our sore muscles from skiiing and the beds were comfy!

Wonderful ski weekend
Our family had a great ski weekend at Blue Mountain Retreat. It was perfect for our group of 6. Some of us went skiing at Seven Springs, some of us went to Somerset for shopping and hung out at the cabin playing games, puzzling, reading, etc. Communication with the owner was fantastic, she always responded quickly, answering every question and assisting with any issue we had (which were few & minor). We would definitely come again and would recommend this home to others.

Clean & Cozy!
Lisa, the host, is absolutely amazing. She provided us with detailed information and guidance about the area. Lisa was responsive and courteous, making the entire process—from booking to check-in and checkout—very easy. This was our first time traveling to Somerset, PA, and the location was perfect for us since we planned to ski at Hidden Valley, which was only about a ten-minute drive away. The short distance made it super convenient to carry all our ski equipment, especially with exhausted kids in tow. I recommend this place for groups seeking extra room and activities. The house had plenty of board games and other entertainment options. Although we didn't get a chance to use the hot tub or enjoy the outdoor areas, the surroundings looked like they could offer a lot of fun for families and friends.

Great Family get away
The house was very clean. There is lots to do. There is darts and foosball, the hot tub and the big soaking tub. My family used everything there and had a great time. The host is super nice and answers questions asap! Would definitely stay here again. There are very close neighbors but no one was renting their other cabin while we were there. We were able to bring our dog along too which was great!

Amazing spot for a weekend ‘retreat.’
Our family enjoyed a perfect fall weekend at the Blue Mountain retreat. Amazing location with close proximity to so many great hiking trails! Very clean home with all the amenities one would need. We loved grilling, looking at the stars from the hot tub, and making s’mores over the fire. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful. Highly recommend and hope to visit again in the future! Our entire family had a wonderful time!

The house was very clean, fully stocked with kitchen appliances and tools, and located on a quiet street. It was a reasonable price since we split the cost between 7 of us. If you were to reserve it for 8 people, make sure that some of you are okay with sleeping in bunkbeds. There is a queen and king size bed and 2 sets of bunk beds (4 beds). Lisa, the owner, was excellent with communicating information.

Family reunion in Laurel Highlands
We spent a weekend at the Blue Mountain Retreat for a family reunion. Lisa is a 5-star host - responsive to inquiries, gracious and resourceful with many suggestions for things to do in the area. The house is beautiful and comfortable, and we felt right at home! We enjoyed the hot tub, grill, fire pit and star gazing! Blue Mountain Retreat is a winner!
We loved staying at Lisa’s home in the mountains of Somerset. The house was beautiful - updated and very comfortable. Lisa was knowledgeable of the area and communication with her was quick and efficient when we needed to ask her a question about something. The backyard was perfect! The fire pit is spacious and the hot tub was very clean and relaxing. The location was great, too. Kooser state park is basically across the street and provides a beautiful walking path along the lake. Laurel hill state park is a very short drive and was absolutely gorgeous. We also visited Idlewild which was an easy 35 minute drive. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again in the future!

Golf Trip
This is an awesome property! We stayed with 8 guys and slept comfortably with plenty of space to sleep and plenty of space to hang out as a group. The backyard was great with all the amenities. Lisa is amazing! She is extremely thorough and makes sure you have everything you need. Look no further if you have 2 groups wanting play golf at 7 springs and hidden valley!
