This was a very enjoyable rental for our stay in Sorrento. As you can see from the listing pictures, it has a wonderful rooftop patio with amazing views over the sea, as well as of the steep hillsides to the south which curl around the town.
The unit itself is a one bedroom (the listing calling it a two bedroom is inaccurate), one bathroom apartment on the top floor of the building. There is a lift which goes to the top floor minus one, so be prepared to carry your luggage at least one flight of stairs. It's worth it, though! The bedroom has a queen bed. There are sofa beds in the living room - one has a double bed mattress (also another smaller, twin-sized sofa bed). There is a sliding partition wall which enables the living room to be closed off from the kitchen area, giving some privacy if someone is sleeping there. The bedroom has a skylight window that can be opened to allow fresh air. The unit has A/C as well.
The unit is not located in the main part of town close to the ports, but is instead situated in the upper portion of the town, granting it those magnificent views over the town and the bay. We found it took about 10-15 minutes to walk into town, either to the main piazza or the train station - longer if you are pulling luggage. The walk to the flat from town is entirely uphill, and the walk into town is downhill. There is a relatively high-end bistro which is virtually next door, however there are no convenient coffee shops, bakeries, or pizzerias very close by. A grocery store and several pizzerias/trattorias were a 6-8 minute walk away. It was easily walkable.
Some reviews I found suggested that the apartment smelled musty - I did not observe this at all. Our only "complaint" was related to the location and not something that the property owner can address: as the building is towards the outskirts of town, there are many rural noises (dogs barking, donkeys braying), as well as noise from scooters winding up the road by the building which can be heard inside, despite closed windows, at night and early in the morning. Sensitive sleepers should be aware of this. My 17-year-old travel companion had trouble sleeping most of the nights of our stay, but was thrilled with the rooftop patio for "chilling", so it all worked out!
The property manager, Andrea, was very helpful and responsive. He met us personally to give us access to the flat and quickly took care of one minor repair (light bulb replacement).
