Our stay was wonderful. We came into town for my grandmothers funeral, we were a little confused as check in is contactless, but we met Rosa and communicated via text and it was easy sailing after that. They did inform me of contactless check in, it just slipped my mind with all going on. The property was great, loved spending one morning with the cows and later with the two pups on site. Really loved that the animals were rescues. Our room was small, but cozy, plenty of other rooms to relax in or play cards. But the heart of this Inn lies with Rhonda, who took very good care of us during our stay. She was so empathetic and warm and welcoming and helped ease the burden of what could have been a very stressful trip back. It was a healing expierence, and ill never forget that, and I thank her and everyone else there. I hope to visit and stay again sometime.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We understand that sometimes when people book at a country Inn, possibly they mean to book in a less country setting. This is our take away from your visit. We feel it is also important to leave feedback on our experience with our guests.

The restaurant/bar on the premises was EXCELLENT, and allowed us to visit the country and have the freedom to have a drink and shoot some pool. A great place, with incredibly friendly owners.

We arrived after dark, finding Nick, the proprietor, on the property. He seemed very nice, showing us to our room, who he said was an upgrade from the Rebecca, we had reserved, probably because we were staying for four nights and he was not booked. From here on things went downhill. At daylight, instead of finding a charming Country Inn, things were in disarray. Don't expect cozy common rooms as displayed on the photographs. We did never see a staff person affiliated with the Inn and our bed was not made once. Besides, the mattress was lousy, there was no TV, which was not a big deal, since we had our laptop and the WIFI was good. It would have been nice to have some other amenties like water glasses, wash clothes and some tissues. Our room had a free standing bathtub with a showercurtain wrapping around the entire tub. Being both octogenerian, for safety reasons, we did not take showers there. The Inn may have been a wonderful destination in the beautiful Beshires years ago, but we were very disappointed to say the least. The owners are running a popular music venue in a barn on the property, which seems to be much more lucritive, consequently more attention is paid to that business. Had we not prepaid, we would have left early. We have travelled the world and don't write reviews often, but felt we needed to let travellers know to skip this one!.

Hello Werner,Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I would like to address some of the concerns you have listed. I will follow in order of your review. Nick, the Owner who you met as you stated he upgraded you to a bigger room. Nick is onsite every day and as his number is listed in the rooms and on your check in paper work and also in the in the lobby. You simply could have reached out to him at ANY time during your stay. He is always available and happy to address any guest concerns. He would just need to be told what those concerns would be in order to meet your expectations. You also must request housekeeping and Rosa our wonderful room attendant would have made your bed. You could have move rooms to accommodate your needs better, had you simply reached out to Nick. We do not list TVs as an amenity and yes, I would agree that we have wonderful WiFi. We could have given you water glasses or a box of tissue had you simply asked, as for wash cloths two of them were in your room with the other towels. The Inn is a charming property that was built in the 1700's and modernized through the years. It continues to be a wonderful destination for people traveling to the Berkshires. The Barn on site is a very popular music venue and pub that offers guests a place to listen to good music, grab a drink and a bite to eat without having to travel. I am sorry to hear that you would want to alert fellow travelers to skip staying at our lovely Inn. We are grateful for the travelers who continue to stay with us and for the new guests that we look forward to hosting. I hope this information is helpful. Cheers, Rhonda

Couldn't wait to leave

Publié le 24 oct. 2023 sur Hotels
Will never stay here again, and would not recommend it to anyone due to an uncomfortable room, lack of hospitality, lack of food, and terrible value for the price. The inn isn’t very comfortable. We stayed in one of the basement rooms, which was cold and noisy. We heard people walking around above us, loud music from the venue, and a freaking rooster crowing all day. There were no amenities, such as a TV or mini-fridge. The bed (which was labeled as a king on Hotels.com but was actually a queen) dipped in the center so badly that I spent the whole night trying not to roll into my husband—which is pretty unacceptable at a hotel. Food was very misleading. They have breakfast, which you pay for separately, but not as many options as I saw online; after viewing the sparse menu, with almost no vegetables, we chose to go elsewhere. It claims to have a dinner restaurant on site, which is total crap—what they have is a music venue. We tried to eat dinner there, and they wanted to charge $25 per person just to enter, before ordering food! So essentially, there’s no real food onsite. And the water fountain was empty the whole time. I never saw a staff person while we were there (aside from the woman selling coffee); not a welcoming vibe at all. The inn shares a parking lot with the music venue, with no parking dedicated to the inn, so parking is a challenge when there’s a show. Overall, we were uncomfortable and annoyed the entire time. We couldn’t wait to leave!

Elizabeth, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I will also respond to your concerns during your stay in order to assist future guests on some facts about the property. Unfortunately, sometimes when you book your reservation through a 3rd party booker you are not guaranteed the room time you requested. Example king bed versus queen bed. I can let you know that all our mattresses are fairly new so I am sorry to hear that you were uncomfortable. We do not list breakfast, TV as an amenity. We did operate a separate breakfast/lunch restaurant called Sarah's in the lobby that had paid breakfast items. You certainly could have asked "the lady selling coffee" to replace the spring water. Although our water is wonderful and safe to drink right from the sink. Also sorry there was some confusion about dinner options as again not listed as an amenity. We do have a music venue on site that offers food. If you wanted to see a show you would pay the cover charge which is pretty standard for live music. Or you simply could have ordered take away food and brought it back to the Inn to enjoy. If you had communicated some of your concerns during your stay we would have tried to accommodate a possible room move. As for the "freaking rooster" the animals are residents Maggie's farm and all rescued, we consider it part of our charm and fortunately MOST guests love it.I hope this information is helpful to you and others understanding the difference between an Inn and a Bed & Breakfast. Inns tend to be bigger than B&Bs, but do not always offer a free breakfast ( again not listed as an amenity) Inns are smaller than hotels and have fewer amenities. Sorry to hear that you were uncomfortable and annoyed during your stay. That certainly is not what we would have wanted for you.
