Great pace to stay

Great house and great neighborhood. Location is close to all town activities but far enough away to have peace and quiet. Trails literally out the back door.

Perfect location and a great stay

A family vacation (8 of us) from 2 areas of the country and enjoyed the layout of the house as one family stayed in the 3 bedrooms downstairs, and the other 2 in the upstairs bedrooms. Location was great. Out of town enough for quiet, and just off the main road for a quick ride to downtown. Trailhead right outside the door that led to a series of about a dozen trials. Great for early morning walks. Nice deck overlooking the trails. Really enjoyed South Lake Tahoe. It was July 4th week and VERY crowded. However, the mood was very upbeat, locals and visitors were friendly, happy & having fun. Town was clean & inviting. Had a pool table we used a lot. They have plenty of toys & games for toddlers. The few games our family & teens could have played were not complete. Pros: Location! / Layout of home / Ease of access / Open kitchen (room for multiple cooks) / Comfy beds (firm) / All rooms have fans / Clean Cons: Could use a few games for older kids

Plenty of room and great location

My family enjoyed their stay in Happy Hiker. Plenty of room for our family of 6. We enjoyed having the pool table and the walking trails right outside the door. Nice neighborhood and easy communication with management team.

Great- but intense amount of rules

We stayed in south Tahoe at the end of June and choose this home to accommodate the 12 of us! (6 adults, 6 kids) the house fit our needs and was well supplied kitchen/bath towel wise! We enjoyed being right next to the trail in the backyard and driving distance to many of our activities. However we received a massive rule list before coming- threatening charges for any mistake. (Ie. Dirty hot tub water left behind- big time charge.. water spots or any damage to pool table-big charge (when the pool table was ALREADY in poor condition with a few holes in the velvet), there are sound monitors all along the outdoor premise threatening if your above sound level they will call the cops. Given, we’re respectful but with 6 kids under 7 we were very stressed it would pick up the sound from inside! The two guest bedrooms doors would not lock either. We just felt for the extreme pressure of the list of rules with the threatening of charging extra, made us enjoy the home a little less. Overall cleanliness was good along with location. Rooms were comfortable overall. Just would put a warning- if you book be prepared for a book of rules for a home that we felt wasn’t quite up to par of the necessity of rules!

We apologize that the rules for Vacation renters in the City of South Lake Tahoe are so strict. In fact, our vacation rental ordinance is one of the strictest in the country. Girls Trip

The location and convinience was perfect, the home and all its space was more than enough for 5 girls. We had so much space to not feel crammed and come together for a game of pool, movie night and dinner.

Great for families

We came as a group over MLK weekend. Home was as advertised in the VRBO listing. There was a snow storm during the weekend I was there so it was nice that there was a large backyard so the kids can play in the snow. There are a lot of amenities there and and I didn’t need to bring a lot of the things I brought, but oh well. Most of the time, these rentals are bare. Plenty of space for everyone and it was pretty clean.

The property had a great location in South Lake Tahoe with privacy. The property was clean and had great space. Very affordable for what you got. Highly recommend.

Exactly as described

Quiet family neighborhood. Spacious home with good beds, nice bathrooms, showers, all very clean. Management was very attentive. Enjoyed the gas log fireplace. We used the kitchen a great deal and found everything we needed for making meals. We also enjoyed the hot tub outside. The backyard setting for the hot tub was wooded and serene.

Fire alarm problem

Overall, stay was awesome, the only problem was with fire alarms going off inside the whole house, we ended up disconnecting them, as advised by the staff.

Pane, thank you for your review. We're so glad to hear you had a great stay! We're sorry you had issues with the smoke detectors during your stay. Turns out one detector was defective which caused all the others in the home to go off. We have replaced the defective one and all are reinstalled and working correctly for future stays.
