I was not impressed with check in at all- the staff member was rude and not helpful. The parking lot was full and when asked where to park she acted as though I should already know. If you do not have enough parking for all rooms please don’t book them. The extra parking lot was across the highway from the hotel and had zero lighting. I did not feel safe and I am concerned about my vehicle. The crosswalk isn’t working properly and the road is under construction. I’m disappointed that this was the worst check in we’ve had on our 14 day roadtrip across Texas. The hallways do not appear to be vacuumed and the room was not clean. The wash clothes had mascara stains on them and the floor had not been cleaned recently.

Customer service was bad. Room with a view
The water in the bathroom smelled really bad. The room had a very odd smell. Customer service at the front desk was not good. They need to learn that they are the first impression of that hotel and should make every guest feel welcome especially after a very long drive. So the desk person who checked me in, same girl who checked me out, was very unfriendly. I smiled, no smile back, I said Happy New Year, nothing back, I tried to make polite conversation and nothing. I asked a question about the bird center across the street and she was rude, shrugged her shoulders and said," How would I know." You are front desk, learn about the island because guests will ask. Stop hiring GEN Z if they have no customer service skills. I felt like I was talking to a zombie. This is why robots replace people, because of people like her. Let's talk about the restaurant, food was okay, they do not have vegetarian options other than a side salad. And they added that Mexican powder spice to everything without asking if we wanted that. But the food was okay. Drinks are what you want to go for if you like to drink. I don't, but it was New Years Eve. And only one wait staff was nice and the rest needed mega customer service training. Very rude. The pool was cute. The hotel is not very secure and parking was bad. It was the nicest place on the beach, but the staff needs to be better. The kindest person in the hotel, the maid. The view was of a parking lot. So don't expect anything facing the water.

We always love to stay at this Courtyard while visiting South Padre. The pool is nice. The restaurant and bar offer great options and service. Access to the beach is perfect.

The main reason for this review is the cleanliness. The room was in a very bad condition upon check in. We arrived late in the evening and I wanted to put the kids to bed right away. It turned out that the bed sheets on one of the beds were not changed. The top looked like someone was sitting on it with dirty shoes. Underneath the sheets were also dirty and with hair. There was also a ball of hair on the floor next to the night stand. The front desk offered to move us to another room but because we were with two little kids and it was late I asked for the bedding to be changed. Someone showed up shortly after with sheets but I had to change them myself. The following days, the only things that seemed to be getting done in the room were the beds, towels exchanged, and trash taken out. The sink or the tub were not being cleaned and the room was not being vacuumed. I have photos that I wish I could attach.

The hotel was great and the hotel staff were really customer focused. The breakfast at the restaurant was bad, they need to step it up to match the hotel quality.
