issues with Expedia and my booking with this resort was a nightmare. After Expedia assisted, Isla Grand Resort staff reassured me a secured reservation & a smooth check in after spending almost a weeek back and forward with the issue. I show up to check in only to be told my reservation wasn’t in place. After waiting for manager, they suddenly had one available for my reservation. Such an inconvenience and headache getting misinformed from multiple employees at this location. No one seemed to be on the same page as far as availability.

I booked a beach view room through Expedia and made a point to confirm the details before my stay. About a week after making my reservation, I called the resort to ensure the room would indeed face the beach. The staff assured me that the room I booked was facing the beach. However, when I arrived at the resort, I was given a room that was not what I expected. Instead of a beach view, the room faced the pool and tennis court, with no sight of the sand or ocean. To make matters worse, the room was a handicap-accessible room, which was not what I had booked or requested. Feeling very disappointed, I reached out to Expedia to file a complaint. Expedia contacted the resort on my behalf, but the resort insisted that the room I was given had a “45-degree angle beach view.” This was completely inaccurate, as I couldn’t see any beach sand from my room. I even took photos to document the actual view, which clearly shows the pool and tennis court instead of the beach. This experience was deeply unpleasant and far from what I had expected when booking a beach view room. I was looking forward to a relaxing stay with a proper beach view, but I ended up with a room that didn’t meet my expectations at all. I plan to share my photos and experience to ensure other travelers are aware of this issue and to hold the resort accountable for the misleading room description.

Have to wait aprox 15 min for pool towels every day . Room safe did not work and sink drain was very slow . After mentioning to front desk no one ever showed up to fix . Pool area and grounds are beautiful.. beach access is great.

When we checked in on the first night, they gave us a room that was dirty and had a guest still living in it. Food and drinks were over priced and poor quality. They only cleaned our room once a week on the second day and we when and asked the front desk for a change of sheets on the 5th day and it was confirmed by the front desk that it would be done, but never happened. This was our honeymoon and hotel did the opposite of make it memorable. We dont know what the resort fee

A gem in South Padre
It is the second time we stayed in isla’s condo type room. The condo is awesome, full kitchen and utilities, ocean view balcony. All 3 TVs, only one works, but the staff repaired them in an hour. The pool is nice, 1 is heated. The only thing is the lifter for accessibility seems always broken and never be fixed. The steps in jacuzzi is pretty steep for handicapped people. Ask for accessibility room if you have difficulty to lift yourself from the toilet. Some condo have very low toilet, and some is normal height toilet. Access to the beach is very good, we enjoy it so much. The location is very good, walmart and HEB are 5 miles away. Watch for the resort fee, they insist the fee for condo is $50/day although during the booking in hotels.com it said $25/day. All Ice vending machine didnt work, and the front office told me to get ice from the bar. Overall, we love it there.

Christmas on the island.
View from the room was spectacular Staff was very friendly and helpful. The 2 room condo needed just a few minor repairs to be a 5 star. We received a coupon for buy one get one free drink. But it was $21 total for the 2 drinks. Most of the regular price drinks were around $10 so felt this was misleading.
