Beautiful setting, lovely cottage
Publié le 10 août 2024 sur HomeAwayIf you want a quiet getaway in the Orkneys, we'd thoroughly recommend this lovely cottage.
It's just by the water's edge and has a gorgeous view over the bay. On an evening it's far nicer to watch the sun go down across the water than to watch the TV! We saw a thunderstorm come in one day and were grateful for the metre-thick walls.
The house is well equipped; the kitchen and bathroom both work well, and the bed is soft.
The house is situated about 20 minutes south of Lerwick in St Margaret's Hope. The village itself is very quiet although there is a (justifiably) popular fish restaurant just 2 minutes down the road form the cottage -- though if you want to eat there, you'd be well advised to book in advance.
All in all, a lovely hideaway. Can't recommend it enough.

Clean & cosy.
Recommend The Murrey Arms Hotel restaurant for end of holiday meal - a real treat.

An Art Lover,s Paradise
Publié le 6 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayA perfect spot for location. A side window overlooking the sea, always changing. Excellent taste, beautiful and fun paintings. Very handy for the ferry and a good spot for travelling up to see Skara Brae and the Ring of Brodgar. Wonderful. Kirkwall is well worth a visit with the Cathedral and the excellent museum. Everything is provided and so comfortable. A big Thank You to Catriona . Caroline .

Great property in a lovely location
Publié le 25 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe property is a good size for 2 or 3. It's well situated right on the waters edge with a lovely fish restaurant clise by, and it's in a great spot if you're a Northern Lights watcher. The photos on the website don't do it justice - we would definitely go back.
