Publié le 13 août 2024 sur HotelsAt check-in, my sister was given the keys to a different booking, in addition to our own. We booked through Hotels.com and another guest with a similar name had a separate booking. Instead of charging the card on file with my booking, my sister was charged for both rooms at check-in because she happened to arrive before me.
The room with three single beds wasn't ideal, it was on the top floor and the lock on the door was faulty so we were too scared to lock it overnight in case there was a fire and we needed out quickly. I made a staff member aware of this concern. The room itself was fine except the windows were painted shut so didn't open, and the bathroom required an overhaul - the showerhead fell off it's bracket when I tried to bring it towards me rather than it facing the wall. A few times throughout the night it sounded as though the tap in the sink was being turned on at full blast, but I presume it might have been neighbours flushing their toilet, but it disturbed what was already a poor night's sleep due to the unlocked door, and feeling vulnerable.
The housekeeper kindly changed our room in the morning to a much nicer room, the bathroom was an improvement and the windows opened. It was still very hot & stuffy, fans were provided in both rooms, but sadly had little effect.
The housekeeper was very kind, but sadly this does not take away the safety element and had we locked our door on the first night, would we have been able to get out again?....

The pub was a perfect location for the venue we were visiting only 10 mins by car. The room was clean and tidy and was perfect for our one night stay, Thank you

Nice welcome - really not a nice room for £200
Publié le 7 avr. 2024 sur HotelsArrived in the middle of karaoke session that finished at midnight . That was find as the room was in the top floor. But the street noise of drunken people was ongoing.
The worst though was the smell
Of human urine in the room. Really strong. Had to put towels down to dampen it out. And what’s worse is the extra fee for bringing a pet. When the normal
Fee doesn’t cover cleaning up after people!

We were expecting a poor review based on your surprise that you had booked a room above a public house. Firstly our description is very accurate and states that we are a hotel above a pub, most guests enjoy this but appreciate it's not for everyone however you did book knowing this. The smell of urine we also smelt after you stayed and we presumed it was your dog as your pre stay room check did not highlight this. The fee for your dog is common in hotels as we can not guarantee that guests following you don't have pet allergies and we allow double the time to clean the room of all pet hairs etc. I would suggest next time you do your homework on the hotel location and building before booking as there is nothing in your review that couldn't of been answered in our description.
