This was a short stay whilst house hunting. I'd stayed at the New Hobbit before, when it was a pub, in one of the rooms attached to the pub. This time, I was in the 'accommodation block' next to the pub (closed for refurbishment). Communication was effective: I was given a code to open the key box next to the door of the room. The room was clean enough and warm enough. The balcony was small but gave a view across the valley. There was a heater (dented, slightly damaged) that I used one colder evening. Not much more to add. Cleaning staff are around each morning and left me alone but were happy to replenish tea and towels as required. Check-out was simple: leave room, replace key in key box, shut key box, scramble code, drive off.
The only two minor issues were a large, heavy, full-length mirror that should have been screwed to the wall which had come adrift and was propped up against the wall and the fact that the door at the bottom of the stairs, a fire door, wouldn't shut fully, either because it had swollen or because things had shifted; it bound on the door cill.
Simple, uncomplicated, did what was required. Be warned, though: if you walk down into Sowerby Bridge, the walk back is steep!
