This restored farm house has been in the family since it was built in 1918. The location offers spectacular views and areas to hike. In addition to the beautiful gardens accented with antique farm equipment, you will enjoy the large open yard (perfect for yard games), the large shade trees, and the wrap-around porch. When is the last time you sat and watched the sun set?
Inside, you will feel right at home with the antique furnishings, a country eat-in kitchen with fireplace, and a large dining room and living room also a fireplace. There is enough room and privacy for at least eight guest to stay, even more for dinner! And, of course, we have added all the modern conveniences for your comfort. The upstairs bedrooms all have TV's for your enjoyment.

Always a wonderful stay!

We’ve stayed at the Bald Knob Farmhouse many times and love it every time. It’s so peaceful and homey and we enjoy just hanging out and spending some quiet time there. Clara is wonderful to work with and we hope to continue visiting many more times in the future.

Family Christmas

Two of my adult children and spouses stayed as part of my Christmas gift. Beautiful home, amenities, location. They were so happy and cozy in this 150 year old, thoroughly upfitted farmhouse. The owner was most excellent with communication, making sure everyone had what they needed for a great Christmas! Thank you!

Enjoyed the Farmhouse

My family of 6 had a wonderful stay at the farmhouse! There was plenty of room for all of us. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. If we are back in town at another time we would love to stay there again!

What a wonderful property

We’ve rented quite a few vacation rentals and this one is pretty much at the top. It was such a great location and the porch is amazing. The house is so well appointed and you can tell it is well loved. We would rent this again for sure. Thank you so much Clara. We had so much fun.

Great Farmhouse

We stayed in the property in September 2024 and the house is a charming farmhouse that is very spacious. The property owners were extremely kind and stopped in to check in on us during our stay. They are truly good people and we appreciate their thoughtfulness.

Charming Farmhouse

This was the second time my family has stayed here. We thoroughly enjoyed it again. It’s a charming old but well maintained farmhouse with a comfortable wrap-around porch in a quiet, remote location. The main street of the small town of Sparta is about 15 minutes away. Highly recommend

Perfect Getaway

We had a great time. The home and grounds are beautiful and give you a nostalgic longing for days gone by. We will definitely be returning for a longer stay. The strawberry rhubarb jam was delicious. Sorry we didn’t get to leave Wendell the whistling whistle pig any jam. 😉

Family Time

This house was perfect for our family trip. It was just as listed and perfect. We got to spend time with family and celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with my Aunt and Uncle that live in Glade Valley. We will rent this house again.

What a great experience !!! Clara was a great host, she left us a jar of her homemade apple butter jam!!!! The Farm house description on line doesn’t give it the justice it deserves!!! Again what a great expieience!!!! I ready to go back again.

Girlfriend Annual Tubing Trip

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. The location was idea, only 5 miles from downtown Sparta. The farmhouse was furnished with all kitchen necessities. We enjoyed the lovely wrap-around porch every morning/evening. The beds were very comfy, not too soft or firm, just perfect for a good nights sleep. The owner couldn’t have been more accommodating. She even provided us with a cast iron skillet when we inquired about one. Hope we get a chance to come again!!

Charming old farmhouse with plenty of large bedrooms and welcoming common spaces, perfect for a family getaway. Super mix of the old and new -- many beautiful old/antique furniture pieces, cozy fireplaces in kitchen and living room, but also new, comfortable beds, an updated shower, TV's in living room and bedrooms and Wi-Fi/Internet. Add in the wonderful, attentive owner/hosts - it felt like staying with family. Couldn't ask for more!

Girls weekend

This is my second visit and I wanted to share this precious home with my sisters. We had a girls weekend to unwind and relax by the fireplace. Played our very lively card games at the cute kitchen table and shared memories in the comfy living room. Enjoyed the cute shops in town. Great weekend!!!

Farmhouse Bald Knob Pleasures

We enjoyed the beautiful Farmhouse and found that it was also a convenient location. We have friends in Sparta and other friends came up to enjoy a "friends gathering." Everyone loved the Farmhouse and it was perfect for our needs. It was a pleasure to meet Clara upon checking in. We enjoyed learning some of the history of the Farmhouse and area from her. We recommend the Farmhouse and hopefully have started a tradition to visit especially for the fall foliage peeping.
