The Uplands Spiddal family friendly and spacious

Welcome to the Uplands, which offers luxury and comfort in the peaceful setting of Spiddal. This beautiful bungalow holiday home is family-friendly accommodation offering a spacious and bright relaxing home complete with a large patio ideal for enjoying dining al-fresco with distant views of Galway Bay, Clare Hills and the Aran Islands, this is an ideal holiday base along the Wild Atlantic Way.

The reception room has large windows overlooking sea and mountain views, large vaulted ceilings, a cosy couch, an open fireplace, large flat-screen TV.

Double doors lead into an impressive open plan kitchen and dining area with high vaulted ceilings, and a fully fitted kitchen with an island/breakfast bar, the conservatory area is used as a dining room oozing natural sunlight with views over Galway Bay. From the dining area is a door leading to the patio area.

Bedroom 1: Large double bedroom with sleigh double bed and ensuite shower room, window to the side of the house.

Bedroom 2: Large double bedroom with sleigh double bed with window to the front of the house.

Spiddal:

The small seaside village of Spiddal, on the Irish Coast, overlooks Galway Bay and the Aran Islands and is a very popular destination for visitors. There are numerous restaurants and pubs, two beaches and a lovely coastal golf course it has something to suit all tastes. Located close to Shannagarraun Wood, a Special Area of Conservation, Spiddal provides lovely places to walk and explore. Try sea fishing off the pier, take a walk down Tra na mBan Blue Flag sandy beach or indulge in a round of golf at Rosshill Golf Course. Only 12 miles to the east lies Galway City, where you can discover some of Ireland’s long and varied history; visit Lynch’s Castle, or trace the origin of the famous Claddagh Ring, which originated in a village near the shore of Galway Bay.

Amazing getaway

My boyfriend and I stayed at this property for a week. It was exactly as advertised, if not better. I found it to be bigger and more spacious than it appeared in the pictures. We had several people over for dinner one evening and it was a great space to host as the dining room and kitchen are open plan, with a door off the kitchen directly into the living room. The host was available by phone if needed, but otherwise left us completely to our own devices. I honestly can't fault it. We had a great stay there and I would recommend to anyone planning a trip to the area :-)

Perfection

Everything was just about prefect with this house! The pictures don’t do it justice. Great layout. The kitchen was well equipped for all your cooking needs. The bedrooms are down the other side of the house - perfect set up for those that need to sleep while others are in the kitchen and living room. Towels were scratchy not soft. Back bedroom was cold. Other than that house was a gem. Definitely will book again.

We stayed with two other couples and everyone loved the property and area. The house was clean and every bed was comfortable! We loved walking into town and bringing back cheese and wine to enjoy on the outside patio. Bus to Galway was very convenient too. 5 star stay!!

Would Thoroughly Recommend.

Perfect location for touring around the Connemara National Park and the Aran islands. Property is situated in the outskirts of Spiddal in a quiet location with a view over to Galway Bay. Upon arrival everything was very clean and tidy and Siobhan made us feel very welcome. Would be ideal for family and couples and we would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone wanting a perfect stay in the locality.

Spiddal getaway

It was a very spacious house for the two of us and we were very comfortable. The house was ideally placed for us to explore Galway surrounds and into Connemara. The welcome pack from the host was a lovely surprise.

Great family home and quiet location

The house was perfect for our family with adult children. We were all able to have our own spaces but also great gathering places to play a card game and have a family dinner. The area was quiet but a perfect in-between for sightseeing. Thanks to Siobhan for checking in with us and making it easy to connect.

Upland Paradise

The online booking is slick and the property was well appointed. A welcome pack of bread, milk, butter, tea, coffee was good. The property with three bedrooms, open plan kitchen diner and separate lounge is spacious and comfortable. Enjoyed sunrise from dining room at breakfast. Great stay thank you. Beautiful home with everything you need to feel at home. Rooms are all spacious, large bedrooms, 2 came with their own bathrooms while the third bathroom was across the hall from third bedroom. Only 30 minutes to Galway.

Das Haus lädt ein zum Entspannen, bietet tollsten Komfort, geschmackvoll und luxeriös eingerichtet, mit viel Platz. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig, etwas abgelegen, mit einem fantastischen Weitblick auf die Landschaft und das Meer. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich und es gab sogar frisches Brot, Milch, Kaffee, Marmelade und vieles mehr zur Begrüßung. Wir haben uns außerordentlich wohl gefühlt. Die 4 Ladies

Tolles Haus mit kleinen Abstrichen (scheinbar normal in Irland)

Das Haus hat eine tolle Lage mit Blick auf das Meer (ca. 500m Luftlinie) und die umgebende Hügellandschaft. Es hat große Räume, ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet. Lediglich die Fugen in den Duschen der 3 Bädern sollten erneuert werden und der auf der Homepage erwähnte Grill war leider einem Sturm zum Opfer gefallen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und tolle Infos von der netten Vermieterin erhalten.

This cottage has a homey feeling. The rooms are large, clean and inviting. The fireplace was a great asset especially with the changing weather. The property is private. quiet, and truly peaceful. The landscaping is beautiful even in late February/early March. The landlord was absolutely wonderful and very helpful. If considering a visit to Spiddal, I would absolutely recommend this home. We throughly enjoyed our stay here! It’s conveniently located but not right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city. When we return to Ireland, this will absolutely be on our list of places to stay.

ruhig gelegenes Ferienhaus, mit Blick auf‘s Meer

Großes Haus, bietet viel Platz. Es gibt draußen eine kleine Terasse, auf der man bei schönem Wetter sitzen und den Blick in die Ferne genießen kann. Einen Grill gab es während unseres Aufenthalts nicht. In der Küche waren die meisten Sachen vorhanden, sodass wir uns ausreichend verpflegen konnten. Die Matratzen in den Betten könnten besser sein, es war zu spüren, dass sie bereits etwas durchgelegen sind. Stellenweise hätten wir uns etwas mehr Sauberkeit im gesamten Haus bei Ankunft gewünscht. Für WLAN, Waschmaschine, Trockner, Strom, Wasser etc. entstehen keine Extrakosten, der WLAN Empfang im Haus ist nicht überall ausreichend vorhanden. Bei Ankunft wurden wir nett empfangen und bekamen einige Ausflugstipps an die Hand. Eine Flasche Wein und Prallinen standen ebenfalls bereit. Den Kindern haben vor allem die Tiere (Pferde und Esel) gefallen, die unweit des Hauses auf den Wiesen standen. Der Ort An Spideal hat nicht viel zu bieten, es gibt aber einen schönen kleinen, etwas versteckten Strand, mit tollem Sand und flachem Wasser. Guter Ausgangspunkt für einen Stadtgang durch Galway, Fahrten nach Connemara und eine Schifffahrt zu den Aaren Islands.
