Foreign Medical Student Crash Pad
Publié le 27 déc. 2021 sur HomeAwayWe did not receive the “house rules” brief until the second day of our stay. This information should be either on the rental announcement or given to the perspective renter for their consideration before committing to rent the transaction. The “ad” states that there is a parking space available. When I got to the property all the parking spots on the pavement were taken. There were no cars parked on the lawn. The house rules brief I received the second day allow for patrons to park on the “lawn” up to 9 feet from the road. I needed this information prior to arriving. The keypad on the front door isn’t lit until a number is pushed, requiring the code to be entered twice if you guess poorly as to where the first number is. The same goes for the keypad for the room. The building is a converted home with 5 bedrooms upstairs and some downstairs. The “shared “ bathroom is shared with 5 other renters. The carpets leading to my rented room were filthy and stained with dark brown marks. The walls are dirty and in desperate need of spackling and a coat of paint. Parts of the ceiling in the kitchen were hanging down and needed repair. The carpet in our suite was “sticky” and we did not want to walk on it without shoes. The mattress on the bed should have been replaced years ago. We left after the 3rd day of our 4 day stay because we couldn’t sleep well on the hard squeaky mattress.
A warning should be included for those who are allergic to dog hair, as the house has a friendly resident Pomeranian. Part of the “ house rules” brief included the fact that the house is a residence for foreign medical students who come and go at all hours of the day and night.

Michael had a short stay but he was respectful of our house rules and was very polite
