Lower duplex apartment, centrally located. Beautifully furnished, 1970s feel.

This apartment is the lower level of a 1939 Duplex. The Duplex shares an acre of land with a house originally built in 1859, now a tri-plex. We live in the upper unit of the tri-plex. This apartment is set up to look like you've walked into a 1970s early 80s home. Decorating was alot of fun...we are regulars at Goodwill. :)
Have a working atari, super nintendo, vhs player, 8 track tape player - and other older technology. Oh and a kind of hidden clubhouse area with blacklights and blacklight posters. :)
We poured our hearts into this apartment, we love it and have loved sharing it with people since 2018. But, we are very strict about the no party/no outside visitors without prior approval policy. There is a calm and tranquil environment here.
There will always be projects going on in and around the yard, always a bit of controlled chaos. Our yard is all about natural landscaping, pollinator plants and gardening. Elena works from home and Justin’s home is the work! We have 10 very friendly semi-free ranging chickens in the backyard. 2 cats: Zoro, Mr Z Kitty and Sir Oliver Butterscotch, the Belligerent. We also have 2 65 pound dogs; EmmaJane NaughtyPants and Link Underfoot. They are friendly in your face kind of dogs. We do our best to keep them away from guests, but they are around. We hope you come stay with us and don’t forget your slippers!

A wonderful place to stay!
This was such a fun, interesting, ,unique, special place to stay. We loved everything about it. The neighborhood was a nice place to walk. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed feeding the fish and watching them.. There was so much to look at and explore. All the decorations really brought us back to the 70s. The loft was so neat! Everything was super clean. Outside at night the lights made it look so fun. We hope to stay again. I can't say enough about how much I loved staying here and how cozy it was.

Perfectly located and lovingly curated
Blast from the Past is one of the best finds on VRBO! All of our relatives absolutely LOVED stopping by to visit and looking at the decor. It's conveniently located in town and easy to find. It has plenty of room and comfortable beds. We loved the fish and the reading nook. Justin's care of the property is next level--we loved the wildness feeling of all the plants and flowers and enjoyed coming out to see the morning glories every morning. One thing to note is that if you're sensitive to neighbor noise, there is an upstairs tenant but we felt it just blended into the sounds of life. Thank you so much! We'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

We have stayed several times in this particular unit and enjoyed their other units as well. Having a full kitchen is fabulous. The owners are very helpful and we love the property - feels like being in the country, yet so convenient to everywhere in Springfield.

Amazing Place
The property was great! The house was clean. It was obvious that the owners put a lot of thought and effort into decorating. It was an incredibly unique duplex. The inside was cheerful, and we had a fun time going around inspecting all of the 70s themed decor and memorabilia. The outside was beautiful as well, with lots of flowers and ponds. It was fun to watch the chickens in their large coop in the back yard. We met Justin a couple of times, he was very friendly and even took us on a tour of a couple of his other properties, which were all equally fantastic. We would stay there again and would recommend it to others.

Like going home
My sister and I have now stayed there three times and each time it kind of feels like going home. We love all the fun decorations from the 70's. It's comfortable, not fancy and it suits us. We feel safe in the neighborhood and it's convenient to many parts of town.

Very eclectic property
The decor of the property was very retro. We stepped back into the 1970’s, which was cool. I’ve stayed at VRBO properties that tried to do period-specific before, but went all in, in ways that detracted from the experience. But this property wasn’t like that. The TV was “smart”, which guests have come to expect. The beds were also comfortable, which is a must. It was a fun stay.

A great place
We stayed in the blast from the blast apartment. And it really was. Each room featured items from the late 60's through the 90's. ie a cb radio, a TV in a console, 45 rpm records, painting by number pictures, a psychedelic hide out. It is just fun. The front yard/garden is wild and beautiful. The kitchen has modern appliances. I can't say enough about this place.

This is a great place to stay. It's very clean and there was alot of effort put into decorating. We especially loved the secret reading loft. The hosts were friendly and responded quickly to my questions. We would definitely stay here again!

A fantastic experience
My daughter and I stayed in this property and just loved it. The decor is amazing. It’s a great neighborhood. Close to everything. The property manager was extremely friendly. Everything was clean and perfect. All the amenities were spot on. We hope to visit again.

Awesome!
Elena and Justin were so accommodating and helpful! The house is clean and well-decorated -- truly a Blast from the Past that we enjoyed! There was a surprise ice storm during our stay and the property was iced and we felt safe. They were accommodating to our extended stay request, and it is so appreciated that they do ALL of the cleaning!! I would recommend this spot to other visitors of Springfield!

This is a fun 1960's house. We loved all the fun things to look at and I couldn't believe how clean you kept all that! The space was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We cooked big breakfasts every morning and the pots, pans, utensils and dishes were top quality. I am dismayed that for some reason I am unable to give all 5 star reviews. I keep clicking all the stars and they keep unclicking themselves.

Insanely Cool Space
It's hard to describe the attention to detail in this incredibly cool space. It was so well done in 70's decor and seemingly every spec of it was fashioned from this era. It was a big space, ample room, and very comfortable. It was also spotless and just had a great feel to it. We loved our time there. The location was amazing, on a nice quiet street very close to the Lincoln museum and other attractions.

It was like stepping back to the 70s Cozy and tastefully decorated. The house was located in a very quiet neighborhood and close to everything. They have a immense library of DVD, videos and just any game you may want to play. I would definitely recommend this location
