We had a great stay. Plenty of room for everyone. Close to attractions. Ping pong was a hit!

Spacious layout but strange property location and not that clean

First, the price for the stay was reasonable and we (almost) had enough beds for our group. The number of beds advertised vs the number listed in the confirmation vs the actual number of beds did not match up. We made it work, but it ended up being pretty awkward. Regarding the property, it's located above a smoke shop and cigarette smells crept up into the rental unit. The entryway also smelled musty so the place just didn't feel very clean to us. One of the bedrooms had bunk beds, which wouldn't have been an issue, but they were very rickety and seemed unstable. No one was willing to use them. There were also bits of metal pieces in the carpet... another thing that made us feel like the space wasn't well cleaned. Anyway, the space itself was kind of cool and the layout and number of beds / bathrooms worked for us but the location, smoke, and cleanliness were very disappointing. We did not contact the property manager during our short stay.

Problems

Cleaning is not being done up to par, and it’s set up to sleep 18, however it supplied the towels and such to handle 18 and that is not noted. We also had no trash bags or anything like that to help with cleaning up.

Canceled Last Minute

We had a trip planned for a group of 10 ladies in Springfield. This house canceled 2 days before our check in. “Personal Reasons” they said? They finally refunded me 2 weeks later after I called VRBO. The Evolve Company also promised a compensation check for our inconvenience, or direct deposit into my bank account (which I did not do). I did receive a check, but when my bank checked the validity, the account was empty. So check was no good. I have always had good luck with vrbo, but this experience was not good at all. Fortunately we found another house last minute, through another company. Fortunately I did get refunded, but this makes me VERY nervous for future use. PS- vrbo said they can’t do anything about the compensation check because it is between me and the company.
