Perfect Stay
Publié le 23 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayI came up with my partner and my dog, Lemon, for a short stay during peak leaf season. The cabin was perfect for what we wanted, which was a few days in nature away from NYC. We were pleased to find that the kitchen was stocked with the essentials so that we could cook and didn’t have to rely on eating out the whole time. We also spent a lot of time stargazing from the hot tub on the deck, which was incredible. I loved building a fire in the fire pit and the wood stove (it’s so cozy and smells amazing) but I definitely would make sure you’re up for that challenge before making the reservation. It seems like some guests have not understood that before booking, which is unfortunate. Be sure to read through the description of the property and the rules carefully to avoid any misunderstandings. John was very communicative and helpful, while also giving us lots of privacy. All in all, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thanks for everything John! We will definitely be back ♡

Quiet Cabin
Publié le 5 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe came up to stay away from fireworks.It is difficult when your partner has PTSD from military service.Fireworks trigger it badly.
The cabin was very secluded, wit a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. It had most amenities you would have at home. However, if you are afraid of washing dishes you use, by hand, this is not the place for you. I would advise bringing a few gallons of water., as the source there is an Artesian well. There is a sulfur smell to it, but it is safe to drink. (We used it for coffee and noticed no difference from regular municipal water.
There is a large deck in back, with a glass table. We spent most of our time out there. There is also a charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid) as well as a small fire pit. Bring some kindling to start your fire, though.
Inside, the place was well equipped, with a full kitchen asnd full bathroom. It does have a large screen Satellite TV ,plus a DVD player.

John was an excellent host. He was very communicative and quite helpful. Overall, a great guy. His dogs are cool as well.He keeps the property up.

Publié le 26 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a great time at the upper cabin. Communication with John was great. House was clean had everything we needed. Check in and check out was very easy. The view was absolutlely gorgeous would love to see it in the fall.
