Avis Delightful fully self contained ground floor apartment

For our anniversary this year, we wanted to be off the beaten track and find space away from the commitments in our everyday lives, to enable us to wind down and enjoy the time with just us together. We found exactly this with Colin and Carol’s little gem of a place. Nestled amongst the trees, it was delightful to be woken by birdsong each morning, and to have a breakfast waiting in the fridge for us to tuck into in our own time. The bed and pillows were comfy, slept so well, and we enjoyed sitting on the porch in the late afternoon sun. The kitchen is fully equipped for whatever you want to prepare and has a rustic feel. Some lovely touches as well (loved the jar of chocolates!). Colin and Carol were such generous hosts, coming to meet us in the dark on their drive and lovely to chat to. They even penned us an anniversary card and put a bottle of bubbles in the fridge for our celebration. We spent some time on the river, bushwalking and at St Albans, where you can step back to a time when nothing needed to be rushed. If you’re looking for time for yourselves and complete relaxation, as Molly says, do yourself a favour.
