Bonne adresse mais des améliorations à faire

L’hôtel est entièrement rénové mais il reste des finitions à faire. La porte de notre chambre par exemple avait un grand espace dessous qui laissait passer le bruit du couloir, le froid et la lumière… Nous avons remarqué que cela n’était pas la seule porte qui était ainsi. Ajoutons qu’une fois le problème signalé une latte a été fixée dans le bas de notre porte mais c’est pour le moins bizarre pour un hôtel de ce standing.
Nous n’avons pas eu recours au valet parking et nous sommes allés nous garer nous-même en face pour moins cher. Surprise lors du départ: le parking nous avait été facturé et il a fallu attendre de se faire rembourser.

They needed chests with draws in the room for clothes, a small store for incidentals like aspirin etc and the translucent wall for the shower is horrible-throws light into the bedroom waking others/

This hotel is perfectly positioned for general.purposes. It was right across from the Old Town Trolley welcome center, which we used during Friday and Saturday. The old main gates to the city were 2 blocks away. In between lay the St. Augustine welcome center and STAR LINE complementary bus, which we used for the Black Raven Sunset Pirate cruise.
All that was near perfect, but the Renaissance Hotel was a step above everything! We arrived early on Friday, asked if our room was ready and, considering it was 8:00 EDT, we did not expect it to be ready. We decided breakfast was in order which we had in the onsite restaurant. Near the end of our meal, we received a call that our room was ready!
We finished and crossed the courtyard to the lobby and our vehicle was already there. I checked us in and my wife and valet already had the luggage on the cart ready to head to our room!
I could go on, but the service only improved, so there is no need!
What we noticed is, at least to us, that all the hotels surrounding St. George St. were smaller with extremely limited parking and appeared to be a little shabby! That is decidedly NOT the case with respect to the Renaissance!
The Renaissance Hotel is very near perfect and the entire staff were very well trained and proud to honorably serve all!
