Get Away
Publié le 7 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayIt rained a lot so we were not able to enjoy the outside in the boat much. We did see the dolphins our first night. Love the food trucks and music close by. Near everything in St. Augustine. The boat seems older that the pictures made it look like. But over all enjoyable stay. It is like camping on the water.

Very very tiny, not going to bash this get away but definitely wasn’t what we signed up for.

Hot stay
Publié le 1 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayWe didn't have a great time. The A/c wasn't working properly, I would have slept outside if we stayed another night. We saw several cockroaches, don't leave food out. For the price we paid I expected better quality. If the host invested a little money it would be a much better experience. Marinas munch was cool, but we were surprised to see it close so early.

Publié le 16 mars 2023 sur HomeAwayEverything was great. Only advice is if you have a dog you better be able to lift it as stairs going down are straight vertical (you are in a sailboat). Overall very enjoyable stay. Will do it again

Horrible communication
Publié le 24 août 2021 sur HomeAwayI received a email stating they would send me all info before arrival. The only info that I received was the password to get on the dock. The hatch to the boat had a combination lock that I never got the combination for. To make matters worse the dock had no lighting at all, we had to use our cell phones to find a dirty looking boat, nothing like the photo. I will never use this site again. The communication is the worse. I took plenty of pictures and will be submit to credit card to not pay this.

I’m not one to leave a bad review I just want to be honest so other people understand what they are paying for. Our experience with the “Romantic Escape”was disappointing. My husband and I spent more than normal to have a fun experience here and we’re fine with paying what they asked, with the understanding of getting what was advertised in the photos. When we got there we were greatly disappointed from the moment we saw the the boat, it was not anything like the pictures. it was old looking and sun rotted the door didn’t even latch completely closed so it would leak if you didn’t have it shut the right way. Inside was ok it was clean but again not what was portrayed in the pictures. The bathroom was confusing and apparently only used for “number one” they did have nice bathrooms with a shower on site tho. The marina was nice and kept up, you would think the boat would be more up to date. The bed was never shown in the pictures, for good reason it was about the size of a twin or smaller. It happen to rain while we were there and started leaking in the center of the bed. At that point we asked for a refund which they did give us and we appreciated. In the add they have a disclaimer about the experience being similar to camping and that’s exactly right but if I wanted a camping experience than I would have paid $30 at a camp ground not $250. In conclusion it was way over priced for something that was inaccurately advertised and needed a lot of work.

We would like to thank Dad for his review. We try to send all information ahead of our guest’s arrival including a video showing how to operate the manual pump, but unfortunately Dad didn’t see it and did not reach out to us during his stay.
We understand that this experience is not for everyone and we try our best to set the right expectations, because the most important thing for us is to make sure our guests have a wonderful and memorable stay.

Great hosts...not so great boat
Publié le 15 oct. 2020 sur HomeAwayI want to start by saying the hosts were very responsive and made the check in process very easy. That’s truly where the great review ends. The boat is much smaller, corroded and old than the photos lead on. It was not clean- there was no light -there was no toilet paper- no toiletries. it was very uncomfortable and claustrophobic. The toilet had its own list of tricks to get it to work which we were not made aware of and there’s no shower available on board. In order to enjoy your experience be sure to bring your own toiletries, your own flashlights, bug spray and probably a fan. It was dingy hot and dirty not to mention wet because we did not know where all the latches and windows were and got wet while we were sleeping as it rained. Needless to say we had to check out after one night and cut our anniversary trip short. It was not at all the romantic getaway we had imagined. The hosts were responsive so they were able to help us at 3 AM when the toilet was overflowing. We truly appreciate how understanding they were to us checking out early but there are many areas that need improvement to make this a romantic experience.

Horrible
Publié le 25 sept. 2020 sur HomeAwayUpon arrival they were fixing the ac unit. Three ac units later we still slept in a sweltering hot boat with a huge leaking ac unit in the middle of the floor. It was a nightmare. This was the kickoff to the first night of our vacation as a new couple both recently divorced. Very bad time.

We appreciate Michelle’s review and as she mentions we had a maintenance issue with the AC and immediately tried to address it. We always strive for our guests to have the best stay possible and that’s why we offered Michelle the option to cancel and be fully refunded or stay with a discounted rate. Michele still decided to stay despite of the AC.
