Relaxing Vacation

Publié le 13 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThis year we flew into Atlanta to visit my son and daughter-in-law and then we all headed out to St. George Island. We had recommendations from someone who stayed in Appalachicola but once we saw barrier island we had to try it. The community is fabulous; all the stores, restaurants you need but no huge development. Beach Bum Cottages were small but comfortable and well-equipped. The beach was across the street for swimming, walking and star gazing. The pool was heaven. A great value! Property manager, Laura, was always available and helpful!

New year beach trip

The only problem was water heater sucked.
We could never take a bath or shower back to back. Or take a nice bath. Always ran out of hot water very quickly . Otherwise would recommend.

Mrs. Stilgenbauer communicated several times with the property manager and owner during her stay with us. She never mentioned anything about the water heater, only that she was having a great time on the island and at the property. Our guests before and after her stay experienced no problems with hot water? Had we known one of our guests was having some difficulty we could have addressed any issue in real time.

First Visit…
Publié le 1 nov. 2023 sur HomeAwayBeach Bum Cottage was clean and well maintained. Location was great with access to the beach right across the street. Nice pool and deck area. Easy access to local casual restaurants and both ends of the island. Billed as a 2 bedroom with one (very small, tight) bathroom, and BR #2 only if you had children under 12. We would look to another place if we were to go back with two adult friends.

Publié le 17 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayFirst time at SGI and we will definitely be back! Peaceful and relaxing. Beaches were not crowded. Beach access directly across a quiet street. Property was clean, bathroom was a bit small but certainly not a deal breaker. Beds were comfortable. Highly recommend!
