Perfect Couples Getaway - Canal Front Apartment

In 1957 my great-grandmother became one of five permanent residents on St. George Island. This place has been a part of our family ever since. Whether it's your first trip or you've been coming for years, I invite you to stay at Little Tradition and experience the quiet beauty of SGI. Maybe you'll make it part of your history too.

Here are the details:

Cute and colorful, ground level, dog friendly apartment in a tranquil setting. Dock and fenced yard. Queen size bed and twin size sleeper love seat. Full kitchen, washer and dryer, large shower. Charcoal park grill outdoors.

Good for a couple, but the quiet, canal location also makes it ideal for a solo traveler wanting to fish or just recharge. The beach is an easy 1/2 mile walk away. Kayaks are available and included in the fee. Several island businesses have golf carts and bikes to rent for a fun, leisurely way to get to the beach or restaurants.

I hope you enjoy this little piece of paradise!

My family and I no longer live upstairs but may be there visiting. Otherwise, no one should be there. If you need space for a larger group ask about renting the upstairs (sleeps 6).

Our second time staying here
We loved the location so much we stayed 2 weeks this time. It is small but has everything you need in a perfect location. I have to cook every meal so having a functional kitchen was important to me. Being able to walk out to our private dock was the best.

Loved it!
Loved the location and the canal dock. The unit was perfect for us and our dog. Unfortunately, our stay was cut short because of Helene and the mandatory evacuation. The owner kept us updated on the weather conditions and the evacuation. Of course we received a refund which was appreciated, but I wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back!

Home away from home
Perfect place to stay with our Yorkie. My husband kyak fishes and it is the perfect location for that. Hostess is awesome to work with. This was our fifth year and hopefully we will be back next year.

Great!
This was the third visit for me and my little dog. Just as nice and clean as the previous visits. Bruiser loves the fenced in yard and chasing the lizards while not being on a leash. Love it being ground level and well stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook at home. My only problem was the TV. I'm old and don't do this streaming stuff. I like cable where I push a button to turn it on and another button to change the channels with local stations. I'm not a big TV watcher so it was not really that big of a deal. Even though it rained and I mean really rained 6 out of the 7 days it was an enjoyable trip. Now if you can do something about the weather it would be nice. I hope to be able to return.

The little tradition
What a great experience me and my girlfriend had at the little tradition. It was an impromptu trip which ended up being a great time. We drove from Texas all the way to the little island of St.George. Worth every hour. I loved the quaint small town feel of the island and the apartment was a perfect place to end the night. Easy beach access great food great communication with the owners. Overall a great experience. We will definitely be coming back next year maybe with more people and rent the big house. Thanks so much.

Great spot to unwind and relax
The property was tidy and well equipped for a couple + dogs in need of a break. We really enjoyed morning coffee in the dock and dinner on the picnic table. My husband caught plenty of blue crab for a lovely seafood boil to celebrate our anniversary. The house is minutes from everything SGI has to offer. One of our favorite spots was Regatta Park, a great place to swim dogs and catch stunning sunsets. Ashley was very responsive and highly recommended as a host. Thank you for sharing your home with us! Tips to future guests: Select dry setting on the air conditioner if the air feels damp. Pack beach towels. Survivors has a great natural bug spray. Grab some on your way in. Bring a cheap plastic table cloth for dining outside. Bring a big pot if you desire to do a crab boil. Have fun!!!

Excellent Spot for a Couple
This spot is located on the bay side of the island, but it's only a 15 minute walk to the beach via public access routes. We had no problem walking the dog and carrying our stuff. Also, the space is pet friendly. There's a small fenced-in yard to let the dog run around. There's also a dock and kayaks on site if you want to paddle around. To be fair, this is not a luxury apartment, but you're also not paying luxury apartment prices. If it's just the two of you and maybe a dog, and all you want is a place to crash with some convenient amenities, like a kitchen and some outdoor space to chill on a dock with relative privacy, I couldn't recommend this place enough. We'll most likely use it again, if it's just the two of us.
