Relaxing Home Away from Home! Pets, Private Pool, Steps to Beach- a rare find!

Sea Gem is a relaxing cape cod style beach home located about midway inside the St. George Island gated secure community. If you want a quiet, serene, beautiful piece of paradise— then Sea Gem will be perfect for you and your fur babies!

There are two master suites, one on the first floor and the other upstairs both featuring relacing master baths that invite you to let go of your worries and settle into beach life. Vaulted ceilings in the living room provide an open and airy feel. The home features hardwood floors downstairs and carpeted spaces upstairs (for quiet and fur babies comfort). Each bedroom and the main room have flat panel televisions with Dish Network, Fire TV. There are DVD players and a DVD library in case of an inclement day or if someone gets sunburned snd needs a bit of time “in”. Sea Gem has a collection of games and jigsaw puzzles for some family bonding. The kitchen is chock full of anything you could need including both a Keurig and a standard coffee maker. Plus, a local owner a gew blocks away is ready to help if you need anything! If you cannot completely "unplug" there is free wi-fi that can run all your family's devices with no buffering!

Rock away with your favorite book or beverage on the covered front porch, or have lunch on the sun deck below while watching the kids splash in the private heated pool (extra heat fee-available only in Spring and Fall). There is a charcoal grill, enclosed outdoor shower, and even a few beach toys! We have 2 kayaks and a bike or two for the more adventurous travelers! Your linens are all included and there are even beach towels available for your use.

The grounds are neatly landscaped with beautiful native vegetation. There is ample parking (some covered). Beach access is just steps away, directly across the street from Sea Gem (see picture).

Premium linens, with double pillows on Kings and Queen beds, beach towels and cleaning service are also included at Sea Gem and will make your vacation experience a breeze! Enjoy access to the clubhouse and amenities including 2 resort size swimming pools, hot tub, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, bike trail, gated security entrance, workout room, and private beaches. *We are pet friendly and allow (1) dog for a $75.00 non-refundable pet fee. If you have an additional pet please contact me and we can make it work.

Property was not ready for our stay. Burned out lite bulbs, nothing to wipe or clean dishes with, pool filter not working, bathrooms dusty, windows filthy. The property appeared to be neglected. Called owner and she was very nice and accommodating.

This home is gorgeous and so comfortable. Sheryl is a wonderful host always checking on you to make sure you have everything you need and has lots of info about the island. The home is a very short walk to the beach and she even provides beach chairs. The home was just perfect for the 8 of us!

Sea Gem Truly is a Gem
We have been coming to SGI for 20 years and always stay on the Plantation (now with two kids, ages 10 and 13!. After a series of beachfront rentals, we opted for Sea Gem this time, which is Tier 1. The house was very clean, kitchen well-stocked with a variety of pots/pans, dishes, and even spices! The property is well-laid out with nice bedrooms and only a couple of steps from the beach walk. While we didn’t use the pool at all, it was clean and inviting. Sheryl was wonderful and very responsive throughout our stay. Highly recommend this property!

Dangerous upstairs banister
Home and location are great. Only problem with the home is the banister on the second floor. The width between the spindles are very far apart. My 2 year old son actually fell between them and landed on the hard wood floors(from the second story). After $6,000 in medical bills, I would never rent this home with small children unless that has been taken care of. Otherwise the home was great.

Perfect property, location, and host
My family has been vacationing on St. George Island for the better part of 20 years, with all but a couple visits not on The Plantation. We can't say enough about how much we've loved our time on the island over the years including fishing, kayaking, biking, running, swimming, and just general hanging on the beach. This is our definition of a beach paradise that allows us to bring our pups on the beach with responsible pet parents to boot, i.e., no compromising beach cleanliness, beauty, or general love of fur kids on the beach. Now, regarding the house: Sheryl has truly made a little beach paradise oasis all but a hop, skip, and jump from the beach. All the amenities you could ask for on the beach including kayaks, bikes, pool, and general beautiful setting and home. Location and property was not only as advertised but even better than expected. Highly recommended and two paws up from Pants, our 12 y/o Yellow Lab!

Beach Getaway
Sea Gem worked out perfectly for our family. The location was perfect. Everyone was very comfortable, we had plenty of room. The pool was extremely private and couldn’t have been better for relaxing and swimming and the kids loved the less sandy option for the toddler. The street was private and quiet, yet right across the way was a boardwalk path to the beach, a very short walk. Sheryl was quick to answer any questions. Our evenings ended with rocking in the chairs on the porch and planning our next visit. Sea Gem helped make this trip full of great memories which was exactly what I was hoping for!

Family Gathering
Our 3-generation family of 5 adults and two young children had an amazing week on St. George Island. "Sea Gem" was indeed a "gem." The house was beautifully decorated, clean, and comfortable. We all enjoyed the heated pool daily and enjoyed only being a short step away from what felt like our private beach. Located within the gated Plantation community, we enjoyed the landscaped grounds, access to bicycle paths, and other community amenities. Though we ventured out to other parts of the island and nearby mainland communities, we were on the island for quality family time in a peaceful setting. Sea Gem checked all the boxes. Also, Sheryl (the homeowner) is also a "gem"--she responded quickly to any questions we had and was genuinely interested in making sure our visit to her property and the island went smoothly. Overall, this was a 5+ vacation home.

Property is in a wonderful, quiet and beautifully landscaped neighborhood with beach access just a short walk up and across the street. Bikes furnished to explore the neighborhood and island and beach chairs and pool toys provided. The home had puzzles, movies, games and books and the kitchen was well stocked. We would love to return soon!

We had a lovely week at SGI in the Sea Gem! House was clean and beds were comfy. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need for cooking and eating in. The house and pool were excellent. The property had a very tropical private feel with nice views of the gulf and close beach access. Our first time to St George Island and it was great. The layout was so perfect. We took the separate upstairs bed and bath. Our kids and the 3 yrs old took the downstairs. Furniture was comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. We'll seek this one out again.

Our family of 7 had a great July 4th week! From the really fun SGI waterwar parade to the fireworks! The house is very close to beach. Beach towels, chairs, toys, kayaks, bikes provided! We could see the dolphins playing in the gulf from the rocking chairs on the huge porch! This place feels like home, very clean, has everything needed for meals (we ate in mostly). Comfortable beds with lux bedding. Crazy large and lux showers with excellent water pressure! Easy booking and communication with owner who lives nearby and quick response by text/phone to questions we had. The beach itself was beautiful, clean and uncrowded! Also has a lovely pool. The only suggestions for improvement would be to update the dishwasher ( we had to Re wash a few dishes after a run), add a few more bath linens and silverware and nicer pool furniture. We would not hesitate to stay here again when in the area. Thank you Sheryl for being a great host and sharing your beautiful Beach House with us!

Great Family Vacation
Sea Gem was absolutely awesome! Just steps from the beautiful gulf beach. The pool was wonderful. The house had everything we needed and the host was very nice and available anytime we had questions. You can’t go wrong with Sea Gem!
