G'day Ernie, Thanks for your review and feedback. Yes, it is disappointing that when visiting St Helens recently the accommodation you chose was not suitable for your personal requirements. As an accommodation manager of a number of properties for over 12 years, I am regularly assisting people who send queries regarding their personal requirements of a property before they make a reservation, such as physical limitations, parking, etc. The most important role of my many duties is to manage guest's expectations. 'Halcyons Days' is a simple, honestly appointed holiday home that is popular at it's price point in the local accommodation market and we host a number of return guests who stay there each year, if not more often. We note 'please contact us with any queries or if you require assistance' a number of times in correspondence to you online before your arrival, and then again in the 'guest info' at the property, including my mobile number. As you did not contact me to seek assistance re the use of appliances or to notify me of the simple fact that the property was not suitable for your specific needs for your 4 night stay, I was unable to change the quality of your experience at that property. A part of the driveway has deteriorated recently, as was noted in the visitor book by another guest. We are looking to repair the issue spots but the driveway is still usable or guests can choose to park on the street which is then a small distance to the front door. Please note, none of the many properties we currently manage provide electric blankets. They are deemed a safety hazard and suitable blankets and heaters are provided instead The bathroom is definitely an original part of the house, and is clean and functional for guest use. I would have happily clarified there were no safety handles in the shower if I was asked. We will look at providing a non-slip mat option for the shower for future guests. We haven't had any previous feedback regarding issues with the rugs, microwave or heat pump. Now we're aware we'll make sure any issues are rectified to alleviate any safety hazards, etc for future guests. Please note I will also contact the current guest at the property to make sure they are not experiencing any unnecessary issues. We're truly sorry this part of your trip to Tassie was not as enjoyable as it could have been.
