Nice getaway
Posted Dec. 10, 2024 on HomeAwayWe enjoyed our week. The condo was nice and appeared as described. Some of the complex’s furniture around the pool is broken, but the Pastory needs to take care of that. Use of the Jeep was an added benefit. The AC in the main bedroom was great. There is an AC unit in the loft, but it is too hot outside for it to be super effective. If you’re a hot sleeper you’ll need to sleep downstairs. The owner was very informative prior to our arrival and responsive when we had an issue. The property manager was on site regularly and also very helpful.

Wonderful trip to St John!

Crowsnest Difficult Access

Limited access to non air conditioned upstairs bedroom via narrow spiral staircase. From the 30 degree incline on the driveway to the steep unlighted outdoor stairway, this is an unsafe place. Overall friendly vibe of a 60’s youth hostel with beautiful palm trees and birds singing.

Peggy, Thank you for taking the time to discuss this with me today. You mentioned that you have tried to remove this review but that you were on hold with VRBO for an hour and gave up... As this is THE WORST review ANY of our properties have EVER received, I would like potential guests know how/why you gave this review based on our discussions. You mentioned that you wrote this:
1) "To protect any disabled people from staying here due to all the steps". But fortunately, we do not claim that this property is handicap accessible. In fact, anyone that looks at our pics or reads our description would know that. We have stairs from our driveway up to our unit, down to our pool, and up to our 2nd floor is a spiral staircase. As advertised.
2) "The loft doesn't have AC". That is correct. As mentioned in the description, the loft doesn't have AC.
3) You are a self described "Hippy that has never written a review before". OK. I am glad you now know to be more accurate in your reviews. Especially when dealing with items like this where the product is actually listed accurately.
During your 2 day stay with us, our property manager picked you up from the ferry, drove you to our condo, gave you a tour, etc. You never complained. After your 2-day stay, he picked you up from the condo, loaded your bags, drove you to your next destination (a timeshare), unloaded your bags, and helped you get in. You never complained or mentioned ANYTHING.
If there was a lightbulb out in our walkway, we would have stopped what we were doing and fixed it immediately. Your poor review is not only unwarranted, it is hurtful to us and our small business.
We don't promote our 2 story condo on the 2nd floor of the complex as either handicap accessible OR ADA compliant. We aren't either one of those. Anyone that looks through our pics should note the spiral staircase and steps leading up to our condo. In fact, those are in 25% of our pics.
It should also be noted the difficulties we had collecting payment from you. We spent hours going back and forth only to determine that you had given me the wrong zip code associated with your credit card....
I hope that you are able to take this review down as you mentioned you are trying to do. But if not, I hope potential guests read my response and understand that this is completely false and our place is "As advertised" and can look past your false claims and see all the 5 star reviews in our history.
As we were just a temporary stay on your trip as you waited for your timeshare to open up, I hope you have a great remainder of your stay on STJ. We hope that you don't treat anyone the way that you have poorly treated us. STJ is known as a place to Be Kind.

Pleasant and Easy Stay

Posted Aug. 7, 2024 on HomeAwayDana and Trevor were excellent hosts. Though we already had a ride to the unit, Gina had offered to pick us up at the ferry and drive us to the unit. Trevor gave us a great tour of the unit, commented on things that we could do in the area and gave us a quick tutorial on the best way to park the car that was part of the rental. The unit was very clean. The parking was a little daunting at first. Being an island shaped like a mountain, the roads are steep with switchbacks, and the unit sat on the side of a hillside. Upside the view was spectacular. Downside, a steep grade to get in and out of the parking space. we were a little wary at first going up and down the road, but we soon got the hang of it and didn’t think twice about it. But just beware, the grades going up and down in Saint John can be very, very steep. Some things we wish we had brought more of with us Are bug spray. The mosquitoes were horrific. If you’re prone to getting bug bites, bring some strong bug spray. My son and I were getting 10 to 15 mosquito bites a day despite wearing bug spray. But my daughter didn’t get bit at all. So depends on your chemistry. We would stay there again. We never got around to using the pool, though it looked great. Hiking trails were right there and we took advantage of them so that was nice. We use the beach chairs and the cooler bag provided. Also wish we had brought laundry pods with us to do laundry at the on-site laundry facilities.would recommend this if you want to specta

Happy to have found Palmy Daze
Posted Jul. 23, 2024 on HomeAwayPalmy Daze was a welcome respite after days snorkeling at any of the many beaches and coves we explored. The property was located not far from town off the main road that goes across the island. It was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for casual evening meals and to relax after a day in the sun and water. The slow cooker was a welcome surprise and we put it to use several times. The roads took a good day to get used to but we knew we couldn’t get lost, especially since we weren’t always firm on where we were going. Our trip happened to coincide with Carnival which was an unexpected delight to experience. The activity made parking in Cruz Bay a little extra but Garet’s advice to pay to park and enjoy yourself was perfect. It was July so we expected heat and humidity but the dramatic rain showers and breezes were a bonus. Next time we’d like to get to do more hiking when the weather is a little bit cooler. The advice someone shared to not pack too much as you’ll be in your bathing suit all the time was absolutely correct. Great place to meet up with family for a vacation.

Nice and clean villa with comprehensive amenities!
Posted Jan. 4, 2024 on HomeAwayMy family stayed here for 5 days and it was great! Overall it was very clean and homey, and the host Garet and property manager Dena were super kind and helpful!
Free Jeep included in the rent also makes this such a sweet deal, which I don't think you can find anywhere else on St.John.
With so many things going on with my life, I really hope I will find another chance to visit this beautiful island and stay at this place again soon!

We loved this place!
Posted Jan. 3, 2024 on HomeAwayThis place was wonderful. Our group was my husband and me and my mother-in-law and my daughter who is 2.5. My husband and I stayed upstairs and everyone else shared the room downstairs. Everyone was very comfortable. The view was beautiful. The location is as great and the pool was also beautiful and a salt water pool which really makes a difference. We had just 3 minor criticisms: 1 the listing said hot tub and there is no hot tub. 2. One of the two coin op washing machines was broken and ate our money. 3. Some of the furniture by the pool just needed to be taken to the dump as it was irreparably damaged.

We don’t know where you saw that we had a hot tub. We’ve never had one.
Sorry about the washer/dryer. If you had mentioned to us during your stay, we would’ve let you know there’s 4 other washer/dryers that you could’ve used. Also, thanks for your feedback about pool furniture. We’ve put in a request to have property manager look at that and dispose of any outdated furniture. Hope to have you back soon!!
