Great little cottage!
Publié le 13 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis cottage is petite, but had everything we needed. The hosts were very kind and even used their generator when we lost power. The location was perfect for us and had great views!

Peacful Oasis
Publié le 5 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayBeautiful stay, beautiful landscape. 10 mins from Cruz Bay, 10 mins from the Windmill Bar. Perfect for the two of us, had everything we needed. The porch view was just wonderful. One recommend, the hot tub water smelled a bit stale, may have needed some chemicals and it took hours to heat up (which they told us about) so we only used once. Great communication with owners. Enjoyed the little bird that came to visit every morning on the porch and the iguana that climbed up the tree. Shower was lovely, bed was comfy... you need a jeep here. Thankful and well rested.

Never again.
Publié le 26 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayI will never stay at this place again or recommend. The electricity went out which was no fault of the owner but they would not turn on the generator so we had no water or electricity for 2 days. No water and no way to flush the toilet. Owner stopped responding at one point. Sent someone to turn on generator after throwing a fit. Turned on generator for about 5 minutes then it turned off and they left never said a word as to why the generator was not left on. Never heard back. At one point they found us a place to stay in St Thomas but it was 9pm at night. Pointless because we had a car rental and no way to get to st Thomas.

Firstly, we want to express our deep support and understanding to the people of St John and our visitors who went through unprecedented blackout since hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017.
Secondly, we want to say to our past and future guests that we care about you deeply and doing everything in our power to make your stay with us the most comfortable and enjoyable experience. I believe that reflects in our reviews.
We live full time on the island taking cake of our property and our guests. As it usually happens in the worst case scenario we were away from the island traveling that week. On Wednesday May 22 St John lost all power for 36 hours. Except for a few large businesses that have commercial generators the whole island plunged into darkness. People had no running water, AC, or ability to charge their phones.
Like majority of villas on St John we do not have a backup power generator. When island wide power outage happened we continuously tried to deliver that message to our guests, through more than a dozen texts and in phone conversation. The reaction we’ve got was a demand to restore power immediately despite that the whole island was in the crisis. I never encountered so much rudeness, yelling and insults in my life.
We tried our best - called every hotel on St. Thomas to find an availability and book a room to allow our guests to move into the accommodation that had power and notified the guests at around 7 pm but didn’t get any response.
We were constantly in touch with our guests. But without power there is no internet or cellular service in the cottage. No one could receive or send messages.
When our friend came to the cottage with a portable generator later that night and personally communicated to the guests that they have an option to move into a comfortable hotel room they again greeted her with yelling, insults and refused the offer.
Our friend have brought her portable generator and ran it for a half an hour to allow for a water pump to fill an accumulation talk, the refrigerator to cool down and to charge the phones. After that she had to leave to take care of her own house taking the generator with her. Finally the power was restored in the morning.
Again we feel for the bad experience that our guests as well as all other visitors to our island had during their stay last week due to the circumstances that were beyond of anyone’s control.

Out of the way, quiet
Publié le 18 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayComfortable King Bed, beautiful view. Functional kitchen. Hard to find at first as GPS/Maps doesn't show it. Best car to rent is a 2 door jeep as parking at Mongoose Junction is easier with a shorter vehicle. Lot's of places to eat and snorkel. Check wardrobe for maps and brochures. .

The view was amazing! But as for the cottage is old and outdated. It’s in the mountains so definitely need to rent a truck to get around. The window in kitchen was broken, the sliding door screen and front screen were malfunctioning, my husband tried to fix them. No ventilation so if attempting to cook alarm (which is great) keeps beeping. The tv started working and half way through our trip didn’t work.

Perfect Getaway for Two (W & D)
Publié le 2 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayAbsolutely perfect! Cute, quiet, secure, safe place. Beautiful view of Fish Bay from the porch area off the bungalow. The sounds of birds, peepers/bugs, ocean, wind, and waves are just what we wanted to hear.
It's within a short drive to the market, and not too far from Mongoose Junction, and the beaches.
Oleg & Zlata stayed in touch, never intrusive - and answered any questions that came up. Kudos to their friend, Alena for checking in on us to make sure we were comfortable and settled.
We didn't want to leave! We definitely want to book here again. 5 stars PLUS!
I've been to STJ 3 times, and this was, by far, the best place I've stayed!
See you again next Spring!!! Sending love!!!

Best experience with a rental ever!
Publié le 18 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayStayed in April and couldn’t be happier or more impressed with the cottage. First, they have a water filtration system, and we felt safe drinking the tap water, plenty hot and cold. Never lost power or internet. We only needed the gentle hum of the window unit at night. Surprising how comfortable the breezes through the screened windows made the cottage. The cottage is extraordinarily clean everywhere, even behind and under furniture and is laid out very well with a sitting area at the end of the bed and a big closet. The kitchen has quality pans and utensils. Oleg offered his propane outdoor grill, which I used. Nothing like grilling out in paradise! We cooked 3 meals and ate them on the bistro dining set on the porch/patio overlooking Fish Bay, best table on the island! The other side is a super comfy outdoor couch with a coffee table perfect for morning coffee while waiting for the sunrise over the mountain. The bathroom is roomy enough. Plenty of toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags were provided. The hot tub works and is amazing at night under the stars. Shaded from the afternoon sun, you won’t burn during a daytime dip. The road out to this slice of heaven is a challenge but the serenity is worth it. Quick trip to the store is just 10 minutes from Cruz Bay. It's worth twice the price, we will be back. Zlata and Oleg are very friendly and kind hosts. If you see a bird with a broken wing tapping on your window wanting a cracker, that's Loopy. Hope to see them again!

Perfect stay
Publié le 15 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayMy husband and I came to STJ for the first time for the VIJamfest and this was a perfect little spot for us to stay for the week. It felt so far away from town but still close enough that we could run into Cruz Bay to grab food, groceries and drinks in a matter of minutes. We could also go straight (haha, matter of speaking of course with the uber curvy roads) north and be at The Windmill Bar for the music festival. Even driving out east to Rams Head for hiking and the beach seemed quick with all the beautiful views along the way. Zlata was a wonderful host and so helpful suggesting places to eat and the best beaches and hiking trails. All the little additional things at the cottage were so nice too, including bug deterant candles, sunscreen, toiletries, a cooler, beach chairs, towels and shopping bags. It was just the most beautiful view from the front porch also, I could talk about it all day and never do it justice. 10/10 We can't wait to come back!
