Best Month of My Life
Publié le 2 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayI spent the best month of my life in Antigua here, so definitely going to give the property all the stars, although I will mention a few things at the end.
The home is very spacious, the bedroom upstairs is beautiful, the views are amazing and the decor is very cute. I was able to work remotely for a month here, the internet works fine. The bed is a bit firm, if I had to suggest anything it would be a mattress topper to make that room absolutely perfect, but its a very nice bedroom and bathroom.
The middle floor is the kitchen and living room, love the furniture and decor. If the two fans are on and the doors are open with the mosquito netting closed its comfortable, but there is no a/c so it does get warm on that floor. We did not have an issue with mosquitoes and were able to keep the doors open almost all the time, the mosquito netting/curtains are perfect.
The bottom floor is so/so, the beds are comfortable and the shower is very nice but it is the Caribbean, we did have a few insects in the downstairs bathroom we had to use Raid for. The home is very clean and the downstairs bathroom is the only place we had this issue after rain. The host was able to send the gardener and pest control so the issue should be taken care of.
The location is great, parking was easy and we were able to drive down the hill to Dickenson Bay and park. The beach at the bottom of the hill is awesome and Treehouse Beach Club is down the street which has great food & cabanas :)

Fantastic house with amazing views!
Publié le 19 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayHelen has a beautiful and very spacious house. We were two adults and two small boys (7 and 8), but you could easily stay there with two families - definitely two couples and a child. There was everything we needed there and having two bathrooms really does make all the difference - and having a washing machine! Plenty of towels and linen. The house was fantastic. Helen was also incredibly quick to answer any of my questions - and very helpful. The swimming pool area was perfect and a great size pool for our young boys. It is a lovely quiet residential area and there were few guests but all very friendly. We had thought that the island would still be really busy until the end of April and the end of the UK school holidays - but actually there was nobody there at all. This suited us as we really wanted a quiet break just our family - and we had hired a car - so had the freedom to go to any of the beaches we wanted. But I think it would be quite good to note that nearly all of the beach cafes and bars were closed at this time of year - and only opened on cruise ship days otherwise it wasn't worth it for them...... The other thing is that we had not anticipated the price of food in the supermarkets. SO so so so expensive. Really you have to go to the market otherwise it costs so much as everything is imported. This is of course no reflection on the lovely house - just maybe useful information for anyone looking to book in April. We had a wonderful stay.

Clean and roomy but disappointed
Publié le 10 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy husband and I came to Antigua to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The online description and pictures of this property looked amazing and the price was excellent so we booked it.
We were disappointed when we arrived because everything in person looked a little dated and worn and the beds were QUEEN size, not king. With a 6'3 husband, it's kind of an issue. The AC in the bedrooms worked great but there is no AC in the living room, which we knew. The problem is that there is absolutely no air flow in the living room. The windows don't fully open, only have slat openings, the ceiling fan doesn't work and you can't leave the patio doors open because of the bugs. The lanai is beautiful and offers a great view, but the mosquitoes were quite bad. So we couldn't be outside because of the bugs and we couldn't be inside because it was too hot.
It just wasn't the place for us to celebrate our 25th anniversary, so we checked out early and went to a 5 star resort on Fryes Beach, which I would definitely recommend.
On the positive side, property is very clean, in a great location, and the owners do provide everything you need to enjoy the island. Under different circumstances, this place might be right for others just wasn't for us.

Dickenson Bay gem at Halcyon Heights
Publié le 14 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property, pool and villa are lovely, well appointed and maintained. Beautiful view of Dickenson Bay, short (10 minute) walk to the beach. Nice and quiet for sleeping and both bedrooms are air conditioned. One has an extra (single) bed where our teen daughter slept, the room was spacious with a large wicker chair between our beds so nobody felt crowded. Our host was responsive, quickly answering any questions, and also left a helpful list of recommended restaurants. Highly recommend this villa and a stay at Dickenson Beach which has several great lunch and dinner restaurants and a gorgeous, silky soft white sand beach.

Comfortable, large two bed property.
Publié le 5 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayPros:
Easy check in, great communication with host, clean, good location, great view from the large balcony.
Cons:
Definitely rent a car as walking anywhere in the heat is painful as the property is at the top of a big hill. The cleaner cleaned our clothes but mixed expensive white clothes with coloured and ruined the whites. Mosquitos are rampant even when keeping doors and windows shut. Aircon only in bedrooms, would’ve been nice in the main living room/kitchen.

Family trip to Antigua
Publié le 13 août 2023 sur HomeAwayThe property was fabulous for what we needed. We used it as a base to travel the island and see all that Antigua had to offer.
It was useful having parking available and the swimming pool was just what was needed for a cooling dip on returning back home.
The beds were comfortable and the balcony area was great especially with the fans on.
We could have done with instructions on how to use the oven/grill and the WiFi was fairly non-existant unless you were out the front door of the property.
All in all I would definitely choose the property again and would be delighted with what I got.

Hi Marianne,
So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.
You should have contacted me about the wifi, it should and does work throughout the property. We would have fixed it for you instead of you standing outside the front door!
Hope you come back to Antigua sometime. Helen

Fabulous and great location
Publié le 31 mai 2023 sur HomeAwayAn excellent property 10 mins from the airport located by one of the best beaches on the island. Wonderful views and very comfortable accommodation if you wish to self cater when not enjoying the local eateries. A great place from which to explore the island on various days out. Hiring a hire is a must. Large supermarkets nearby. Lovely pool, what more could you ask for.
