Publié le 19 mai 2024 sur HotelsThe hotel is a beautiful building set in the most wonderful grounds that are a plant lover's paradise. Sadly what let down our stay was the lack of staff. We witnessed only two young women during our stay who seemed to be trying to cover all aspects of looking after guests. Tables outside weren't cleared for almost an hour after guests had departed and at breakfast no one came to check that our food was okay (which it wasn't). We slept badly as the duvet was far too heavy for the time of year and there was a constant noise throughout the night from some machinery (maybe the boiler?) which throbbed constantly making sleep impossible. The hotel rooms are beautiful but for the price one would expect a much higher ratio of staff. One of the young ladies appeared in the morning wearing a pair of leggings and a crumpled shirt, hardly the level of attire you expect in a hotel of this grade. It was a shame not to be able to enjoy a glass of wine in the hotel before heading to the nearby restaurant for dinner. The hotel runs an honesty bar but there are only spirits on offer. Our meal at the sister restaurant was good.
