STAY AWAY

Worst experience ever. Barbara tried to hold your money since the Hurricane came in with 8' surge and destroyed the area and we were unable to access the area. Although Maderia beach was under mandatory evacuation and no nonemergency vehicles or people still days after we were supposed to check in were not allowed anywhere near the area. she said that she doesn't "typically give refunds, but given the circumstance, she would offer us credit for the days we didn't stay toward another time within a year"?????? Uh What? what about were do we stay now...her response is that we weren't stranded because we had a car and could just drive home....what? I brother flew in from Reno, NV. It was a terrible thing what happened to Maderia Beach and we come to this area a couple of times a year and it will be years until the area comes back for this storm and it breaks our hearts. But I would never book with her again, because you know if something isn't right, she is going to go out of her way to not make it right. VBRO had to force her to refund us so we could find some where we could stay as every thing was booking up fast inland to stay. Karma I am sure will do its part with this one, but if you don't want to deal with someone that has no business in dealing with the public when things don't go according to plan, there are plenty of other places you can go stay in the area as we have for years and other host have always been AWESOME! VBRO customer service was GREAT!

The above review is not exactly accurate. I spoke with this gentleman a couple days before the storm hit and we both agreed to play it by ear to see what condition the property was in after the storm, Hurricane Helene passed. The storm passed Thursday afternoon and Friday early morning. he called to say there was damage and he was going to cancel. I did explain to him my normal refund/rebook procedure involving natural disasters, but I also told him that I would be checking with customer service and getting back with him. Also, when I spoke with him, I didn’t even know the conditions at the building yet because it was early in the morning and I had no reports of damage or problems yet. He called customer service and told them I was refusing to refund him. I wanted to speak with customer service before I refunded him because they have policies regarding late cancellation and sometimes they don’t refund all of the taxes and fees they charge even though I would’ve refund my charges and that’s what I needed to ask them about. I never refused to refund him, I refunded him and several other guests and rescheduled the people that wanted to reschedule. Hope this clarifies this.

Great Location

A quick girl’s trip to Madeira beach, and this was the perfect spot. Walk to restaurants and shopping across the street, beach access steps away, a nice pool on location and views of the beach. As others mentioned the unit is dated, but clean. Barb was great and we had a wonderful time. We’d come back!

Labor Day Getaway

Property was as described in listing. Clean, a/c worked well, and can't beat the location. The property pool was fantastic and right on the beach. Rooms were comfortable. Great view from balcony. Communication with the Owner was efficient and she was very helpful and accommodating. Parking space in covered garage was a plus. Walk across the street to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. We would definitely book again.

Weekend at Johns Pass

Found this last minute stay and communication was excellent with owner. It is your typical older Mad Beach condo. Could very much use any kind of updating (if you need that) but otherwise clean, owner friendly, lots of beach toys for us to use, quite building and you literally cannot beat the location. Walk across the street to John’s pad for all your food and entertainment needs.

Disappointed stay

My son and i checked into this condo at the end of June and were very disappointed with the overall experience. The condo unit advertised was very deceptive, with pictures making it look like it was a beach front condo. The property itself was unkept and very outdated as was the condo unit. There was a strong smell of mildew/mold odor as soon as we walked in. Still could not find the hot tub and tennis court advertised in the listing. Would not recommend using VRBO.
