Elizabeth was wonderful helping us as we checked in. My husband is disabled. I had two 50 pound suitcases that had to be carried down a flight of stairs to check in. Then after you check in, we had to carry them back up those flight of stairs. There is no consideration for people with disabilities there so if anyone has hardships, I would avoid this hotel. We were told they have a restaurant but they only have one thing each day that they serve. They had Pizza and salad that dsy. Great server Stephen. It was delicious. They have a very nice Continental breakfast. We had absolutely no hot water in the showers. When we got there, there was a huge puddle in the bed area of the room as well as the bathroom. I just thought the shower curtain wasn’t shut properly and leaked so I cleaned that up, but then after my shower, my husband told me the ceiling was leaking in the Bed area. We used a nice bucket to catch that water which was 3/4 of the way full by morning. Period at 3 AM. I was awoken by water, splashing on my face from the ceiling leaking on the other side of the room. Put a garbage can under that. You can tell by looking at the ceiling that they’ve had these problems before and they were left unrepaired. We had a late check out which cost an extra $20 for two extra hours in the room and they did give us that for free. Big deal let me tell you it wasn’t worth it. Cold shower, leaky ceilings, cleaning up the room numerous times. Go somewhere else.

The Mafolie was a great place to stay. I love the peace and serenity. The view was fabulous. The staff was fabulous. I will definitely come again!

Hotel Mafolie has the most gorgeous view on the island. It’s an old hotel in need of many upgrades, which are in progress. The restaurant and pool bar had been damaged in a storm and are in the process of being rebuilt. The pool is small but perfect to cool off in, surrounded by umbrellas and chaises. There is a continental breakfast served on the restaurant terrace each morning, and it’s satisfying without being fancy. The view overlooking the harbor is amazing. The staff is the highlight of the hotel, in my opinion. So incredibly friendly and helpful, with free pina coladas provided in the office. They can arrange taxis and day trips on request, which you really need to take to get downtown or for dinner. The room was clean and basic, with very good air conditioning! This is a bonus as St.Thomas gets hot. It had a terrace in front with a table to sit out and enjoy the view. We’ll go back in the future. The owner and staff are putting so much work and love into it, I can’t wait to see the result.

The hotel is perched on the hillside with a fantastic view. The room was large and interesting with a living room, table and chairs and fridge. The bathroom was a little small, but worked well for us. The room was very clean. There is a large step up to the bedroom area, and a small step into the bathroom. All in all, a very unique place!

Great place for a real St Thomas experience
This was a great place to stay and get a St Thomas experience. The view is amazing!! The pool is lovely and refreshing. They are in the middle of renovating the rooms and their restaurant. But the villas are large and also have great views! Check in attendants were super helpful and very knowledgable.

No restaurant on property in wich they don't tell about , that has been closed for more than a year. Room in wich a stayed was a King but more along the lines of a single with a large futon. Card key only works sometimes overall view is breathtaking but if u have the option stay in the city. Great staff.

The property owner, Stephen, did not hesitate to make our stay a truly memorable experience. Kalena and the entire hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The property is quaint and no-frills, but clean and relaxing with spectacular views. Great pool area! The kind of place that creates memories for a lifetime!

Loved the view! Mattress and pillows were awful and need to be changed out. Like sleeping on a board. Staff super friendly and helpful. Has a nice pool. Restaurant was closed due to roof damage, so every meal involved a taxi fee $20 each way to town. Inconvenient.

We absolutely loved the view!!! Our room was very clean and pleasant. The staff was fantastic--special shout out to Kalina, Kahirah, Jeneva and Elizabeth! Kalina hooked us up with a wonderful driver (Mike) who gave us a private tour of the island. We enjoyed sitting by the pool as well as the complimentary breakfast. The hotel is still coming back from hurricane damage so the restaurant wasn't open and repairs were being made while we were there but there was nothing that interfered with our trip in terms of noise or inconvenience except the lack of nearby restaurants and the limited number of delivery options. We had a terrible experience with Dominos--avoid if at all possible. We had them answer the phone and hang up on us several times as well as delivering pasta to us (took almost an hour and a half) with no utensils. By then the front desk was closed so we had to eat with our fingers!! The hotel is a keeper--Dominos is not!

Beautiful view hotel has no restaurants or bars open at this time. Had to walk up to cafe straight up the mountain for 15 minutes to get food. If don’t have car you will need to walk or taxi for food. Nothing to do after dark.

Hotel room was nice but in need of a little work, staff was very nice, pool was nice, views were great, the restaurant and bar are not open though which was a big bummer. The included breakfast was typical for an included breakfast but if you’re staying for a bit they weren’t rotating options at all so just an fyi it’s the same everyday. I would stay here again for sure but if I had known all of this I might have weighed my options differently. I’d say your rooms, breakfast, and pool areas have the best views of the harbor and Charlotte that I saw from anywhere else, and nice sun rises!

Room was very nice, staff service was excellent. In the center of St Thomas, it is conveniently located. Only down side was that during our visit, their restaurant was closed due to hurricane damage yet they still served a very nice Continental breakfast. Look forward to staying here again in the future.
