Friendly and accommodating

My stay at Star City Inn & Suites was friendly,the lady that is over the place was very understanding to my situation, death situation and my dogs 2, I was given a ground floor room next too the outer door to make it easier on me physically. The air conditioner was Great! The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on. My step-brother even went out of his way to get a room at the hotel. The staff was very accommodating. if I'm ever this way again l will stay here again.

Pleasantly surprised with my stay. The price was excellent, but it’s a small town. My room was large, very clean and comfortable. A pleasant stay.

Honest Review

I can vouch for previous reviews. Customer is telling the absolute truth. Soap dispensers are in fact always empty, room does smell like mildew, towels are stained, sheets are stained, tv's are extremely small, and most of the time the fridges are iced over. Owner in a previous review stated, of course he turns off the AC units when it's empty, would you leave it running at your house? Well, yes, yes you would. AC units are also dehumidifiers, the Mildew smell from the previous reviews makes perfect sense if he's turning off the units when empty. The fact that he doesn't understand this tells me he's a bad business man. As for a combative owner, I think we can all see that to be true. Who writes half a review in all caps? I agree with the original review from the previous customer, which when I read really wasn't worth banning them over. The hotel is not great, but not terrible. It's a good bargain for 60. However, they won't see my money again either after seeing how this ownership acts. Immaturity at it's finest. They were trying to help you, and you acted like a child and attacked them stating they couldn't afford your rates and brought roaches from their own home. What a tiny fella you must be.

Terrible Service

Owner continues to respond calling us liars. We'll keep posting more and more reviews. Nothing we have said is a lie. They are 100% turning breakers off to rooms not occupied for the AC Unit, then forgetting to turn them on when the guest checks in, ie, cutting costs. They 100% never refill the soap in the rooms. We have stayed in room 122 multiple times, and have yet to have any soap for a shower or to wash our hands. We actually run to dollar general everytime we stay because we know they won't have soap refilled. Their sheets are stained, the comforter smells like mildew, probably because they leave the AC off when not occupied, the walls are painted over and blemished, no attempt was made to repair, just a band aid. The shower rods are falling off the wall, the peep holes to rooms have toilet tissue stuffed in them because they are missing, the toilet paper is about the equivalent of 120 grit sandpaper, and the owners are cowards when confronted about any of it. Keep on responding, we have plenty of bookings in the past still requesting reviews. Lets not forget, you asked us to review it, just beause you don't like it doesn't mean its a lie. Denial, just as I stated in a previous review. Little man syndrome.

Dear Elena,That room has more problems so why do you keep asking for the same room every time. So the last 15 times you didn't find anything till the hotel refused your services, it looks like your eyes are closed during your stay. AND AFTER HOTEL REFUSE SERVICES THEN YOUR WAS OPEN EYES. It looks like you brought everything from your home including the ROACHES and everything. If you see roaches in that room, why keep staying in that room 15 times??? Who would like to stay in that same room 15 times???? IF YOU ARE NOT AT YOUR HOME STILL YOU LEFT UTILITY ON ?????? THERE IS NO MAKE SENSE TO KEEP IT ON EMPTY ROOM UTILITY. YOU ARE NOT AFFORD OUR RATE THAT'S WHY OUR HOTEL IS NOT NICE TO YOU AND YOU ARE NOT DESERVE GOOD SERVICE. WE DESERVE GOOD CUSTOMERS NOT RUDE AND CHIP. WHO IS STAYING WITH US THEY KNOW HOW'S OUR SERVICE AND CLEANING SO YOUR REVIEW IS NOT MATTER TO OUR CUSTOMER THEY NOT DUMB THEY KNOW THE DIFFERENT A REAL REVIEW AND FAKE REVIEW. We ended up staying in Monticello, just 20 minutes down the road, after owner refused us service due to a negative review of his property. Best thing that could of happened. Was so nice sleeping in an actual room and not a roach motel. Be very careful before booking here. Read through the negative reviews. The owner is super combative with anyone providing feedback to improve the property. He is in denial. Vending Machines always empty, ice machine never works, owners live in motel so good luck getting any after hour help. They are cutting corners for profit at the expense of the patrons. The rooms are not cleaned thouroghly between guests. They are too cheap to hire anyone and do it themselves, and do it terribly. If they can save money, they will cut any corner necessary, and their property reflects that. Do yourself a favor and make the 20 minute trip to Monticello. You'll see the difference between effective ownership and terrible ownership. Star City Inn is run by a very immature individual. They spend more time defending themselves on reviews than managing their property.

Dear Elena,We do not ban customers without any reason. you guys do not like property so Manager told you guys go somewhere else wherever you get really good service and your expectation. who ever provides you everything clean. If you do not like property, why try to stay at a hotel everytime. We ban it because you guys do not like property so why do you try to spend your VALUABLE money at a hotel. Manager already told you to stay at another hotel. Our regular customers already know how we give services and treat customers. Your reviews weren't honest as well. How much you lie on review you can be noticed. So why do you try to stay at our property every week?

Grown Children Running the Place

Hotels.com is investigating owner for banning travelers who leave negative reviews. Might not be able to book on Expedia soon. Hotels.com gave us compensation since owner acted like a spoiled child. Grow up. Constructive criticism helps you grow. Hope you strive to do better in the future my guy.
