Like a stay at granny’s house

Portion of hosts home, separate and available for rent. Heating system not efficient and took some work to sort out how to keep all areas of the unit comfortably heated. Beds clean and comfortable. Overall cleanliness was good. Bath facilities are an addition to existing structure and sufficient, but could use some TLC. Host is eager to please and pleasant to interact with. Listing indicates free breakfast for all guests. However, upon arrival, we were advised there is no winter offering of breakfast for guests. Local options not far away for breakfast lunch and dinner. Rental is located in residential area that is safe and quiet. 35 minute drive to Jiminy Peak ski resort was straightforward on well paved roads.

The property is so lovely and peaceful. I love the classic mid-century modern aesthetic. For visitors to the National Shrine of Divine Mercy, the Inn’s location couldn’t be more perfect with only a 5-minute walk to the Shrine.

Unhappy Stockbridge Visitor

Let me preface this review with the statement that I have never left a bad review before. I only leave good reviews and chalk up the bad stays to experience. This time I felt that I needed to leave a bad review. We were not actually there long enough to completely fill out the review. We moved out luggage in and went out to lunch. The picture on the website did not reflect a damp basement apartment. When we returned there was no heat so the owner came to turn it on complaining that it was to expensive to set the bedroom at 73 but she did it. My husband and I were uncomfortable with her attitude so we moved our bags back into the car and left. We found a room elsewhere.

I am so sorry this guest had a bad experience. We strive to do whatever we can to make each guest happy. I was the one to turn on the heat at their request and I did not complain, I explained. They were miffed and unpleasant to me because the heat was not on. I explained (as I was turning on the heat) that it was 70 degrees outside so that is why the heat was not on. The man spoke with his back to me so I missed what he said, and the wife said the heat had to be at exactly 73 degrees. It does take a few minutes to get to the temperature set but we are sorry they left without giving the heat a chance. I was concerned and asked other guests if they wanted heat, they laughed and said no it was warm out. This building has no basement. The ground floor suites walk out. have full-sized windows, and sliding glass doors - not sure why they thought it was a basement(?)We feel very sad they were disappointed and wish they would have told us they were leaving but they chose not to.

We stayed one night, after a concert at Tanglewood, in the smaller of two suites created in the lower level of a deck house (the owner Carole lives upstairs). The location was very convenient for us (~5 miles from Tanglewood), and quiet and rural with nice grounds. The suite was comfortable and clean. Carole kept in touch to make sure we knew how to find the address and set a time to greet us and show us the suite. The only negatives would be that the hot water could come faster and the “continental breakfast” (croissants, melon and ground coffee left in the fridge) could be more varied. After checking out we visited Naumkeag, a beautiful Trustees of Reservations property which Carole recommended, only a mile away. Overall, T.S. offers nice, convenient accommodations with friendly service by the homeowner (note that credit cards aren’t accepted). Not fancy or new but comfortable and roomy.

We are flabbergasted. This woman's husband went out of his way to say that the location, the grounds, and the suite was exactly what he was looking for and enjoyed. We gave them a free upgrande and now a 6 rating? The only negative comment Patricia, his wife, made was that she wanted more than a continenatl breakfast. Sadly with inflation we offer continental breakfast so we do not have to raise prices which most guests appreciate.

A very pretty location, quiet and peaceful; lovely view out large glass doors in the large bedroom. The arrangement of the 2 bedrooms and the bathroom was awkward - latter is wholly in the large bedroom. Minor complaints: Water needed to run for several minutes to get hot; very slow WiFi.

My goodness -- pretty location, quiet, large and it gets a 6? Yes water runs longer for hot to come up in one suite. Plumber has been out and has done what he could. In other suite almost immediate. Sadly we have no control over speed of WiFi - wish we dwell-located, peaceful quiet and beautiful place is a 6 -- ?

We had difficulty finding the place. However after phoning Carol, she not only directed us to the location she drove us to the festivities and recommended things to do. The room was clean and comfortable. The only thing missing was no coffee setup.
