When entering the hotel the front desk was not manned you had to call a number on a poster which was the same for checking out. The hotel was cold with random space heaters running in the hallway. The room was ice cold and the floors where uncomfortably cold. It took hours for the heat in the room to get it to a bearable level. The tile floor at the entrance and bathroom never warmed. It appears this hotel is suffering from financial difficulties. It could be an exceptional place to stay with a little effort on their part. But with the condition this hotel was in I would choose another hotel or drive to an adjacent city and stay elsewhere the next time I have to stay in the area

The property appears to have been built for the local oil boom that has now ended. The hotel has very few guests and is operated by a skeleton staff who are unable to provide customary services or expected level of maintenance. It is not clear whether this is a temporary condition or continuing state of decline. The listed dinner was not offered. The included breakfast (no longer) includes any hot items or other decent sources of protein (e.g., No hard boiled eggs). The property’s automated entry doors no longer function, and in our room the bedside lamp and soap dispenser in the shower did not work. WiFi was enabled by a router sitting on a chair in the hallway. Front desk staff were largely absent and replaced by a sign advising one to phone the number indicated, with no phone provided with which to do so. It has been a long time since I have stayed in a hotel where the toilet had a seat but no closable lid.

Rooms were clean, but the front desk staff messed up our reservation tjen blames it on Expedia. No extra blankets, pop machine was empty

Delicious food and great service!

Our stay at the Stoughton Western Star was great! Clint was so nice and accommodating. The food was excellent! Our room was clean and very comfortable for the 2 nights we stayed. Walking distance to Main Street was so nice. We will stay again when we visit the area next time.

Very clean and well managed motel. Friendly staff, quiet and very good meals. Complimentary breakfast wasn’t just continental but full meal, as was dinner. I would highly recommend.
