A Labor of Love
Publié le 26 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had the privilege of staying in a renovated home in Stowe, VT that was clearly a labor of love.
The hosts and their family members renovated a historic home into a stunning contemporary home. The house is beautifully appointed with four bedrooms, three and a half baths and a great room that features a fabulous kitchen, electric "wood" stove, original wood beams integrated into the ceiling and staircase and beautiful wood dining table and accent furniture.
The hosts thought of everything... from three types of coffee makers to a guitar....whatever we might have needed, they had thought to supply. The home was immaculate with heated floors and mudroom to handle even the coldest nights.
We had booked the property with two other (senior) couples who became hooked on vrbo's because of their experience in this home.
Oh - I can't forget the amazing deck and fire pit perched on top of the hill behind the house... Too cool!
The hosts did a great job of reaching out to us over the course of our stay to ensure that all of our needs were satisfied.

Stowe Stay
Publié le 29 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThe house is new and updated. The beds and linens are nice quality . It is also very clean the kitchen is perfectly equipped. Walking distance to downtown ! My only complaint is there is not a TV in the main living area for group watching of sports , etc.
The main photo is the back of the house and does not show that you are about thirty feet from the major highway through Stowe. Maple Street is also State Highway 100. The traffic is very noisy and starts ar four AM on the front side of the house.

We are so glad to know that you loved the house if not our location, which should be pointed is actually a highlight for many of our guests who love the easy access to the quiet path and shops, and who enjoy being situated in the ebb and flow of Stowe Village life. To address the primary concern of this review about the traffic of our address on Maple Street, (also known as Main Street in the historic Stowe Village), it should also be noted that we share our street location with a majority of the most prominent, desirable, and historic homes in Stowe. We can assure future guests that while there sometimes a normal amount of traffic on our street, unless there is some kind of road work deploying large trucks going on, as may have been the case here, it is generally not excessively noisy or busy outside of commuter hours. If someone is looking for a secluded retreat deep in the Vermont woods they may do well to look elsewhere, but for those who value a historic neighborhood feel, with walking access to village shops, restaurants, and recreation… most of our guests seem to feel our offering is a perfect balance of quietude and small town bustle.

Great Location and Accommodations
