Little piece of Heaven

We have stayed here several times and we love it. It is clean when we arrive and is a nice traditional Door County Cottage. The views are spectacular and sunsets and sunrises are awesome. The love swing overlooking Sand Bay and bonfire pit are nice touches. Located on the end of a dead end road, it offers privacy and is close to all Door County attractions. We highly recommend it and look forward to our next visit....

solid affordable place to stay

The place was as described, the property itself was pretty awesome. We had a great stay and it was great for our family of 5. The full-size bed was a little tight for my wife and me but we were trying to find a budget-friendly place with enough beds and that is exactly what we got! looking forward to coming back here in may!

Neglected and way overpriced.

I would never return. The owner was nice enough but clearly had not been there in a long time. The place is dismal, at best. Marks on the walls, tears in uncovered pillows (there are only 4, not like the photo). It was promoted as a place for 6 to sleep, which it can, but there was only one dinner plate. Lots of desert plates though. Coffeemaker didn’t work. But the clincher for me was the list of things we needed to do when leaving- put dishes away and take out the trash. Both understandable, but this place requests that you sweep, vacuum rugs, and mop where necessary. And if we didn’t, he would charge us an additional fee. My question is, why did you pre-charge us cleaning fees? We did the work already.

This review is obviously concerning. We have been in business over 20 years and haven't had any negative reviews except seasonal bugs during spring hatches. It is listed as a 2 bedroom which sleeps 6. One room has a queen bed and a set of twin bunks, and the other room has a full bed. This particular renter came after a full rental occupying all 3 units was present and some of the dishes may have been transferred to another unit. We were not made aware of ANY concerns during their stay until this review was posted. Our cleaning crew uses magic erasers for any marks on the walls so this would be a surprise if they missed any. All of the pillows for the couch were recovered(we had a guest who brought a dog(we have a no pet policy) and that was corrected as soon as noticed. Our coffeemakers are sanitized each week and again,I was unaware of any problem. We keep replacements on site but I wasn't notified or given a chance to replace a defective unit. Our cleaning fee clearly states it is for linens laundering and UNREASONABLE exit status...whereby additional fees would be required. We have a "leave it as you found it" policy. It isn't unreasonable to ask guests to take out their trash and do their dishes. Our cleaning crew must still deep clean and do bathrooms and showers. ALL of these concerns would have easily been remedied with a simple phone call during this guests stay. Lastly, our prices are reasonable and comparative to units nearby and are nearly HALF the rate of condos and hotels nearby. We believe our prices are fair for private waterfront lodging in a cottage setting.
