This place was what I expected for being cheap. But many things just weren’t to standard. At this point just gut the whole place and invest into making it better. The vending machines are awful. Bathrooms with no fan and a previous guests roll of toilet paper. Old fashioned non slip strips in a tub are disgusting. Tv was small and poorly mounted. The nightstand lamps have plug ins that are far to loose and are likely a hazard. The bed is a big metal box? The headboard slams the wall. All of the doors in the entire building slam hard and are extremely loud. That’s all I heard all night long.
This location is such a hot spot for tourism now for a lot of reasons. This hotel needs to be redone and invested in.

We made our reservations through Expedia November of 2023 and were very clear of our destination being the Motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. We attempted multiple times the week before our stay (Aug 2 through Aug 5) to contact Travel Lodge to verify our stay with no success of contacting a live agent. Thus at our arrival we find that our reservation was made to Sturgis, Michigan not Sturgis, South Dakota. The management at Sturgis, Michigan refused later to give us a full refund and kept approximately one hundred dollars. Because of this, we will never make reservations through Expedia or Travel Lodge. Very disappointed. The trip caused me to lose over $500 dollars on gas and food not including having no were to stay, we returned directly home. Twenty hours travel time.
