Older motel, but very clean and well kept up.

I just needed a room for one night on my way to see family. Was not looking to blow my budget for a overnighter, just needed a clean pace to sleep and shower. The place is a older motel, but it seems to be kept up. The room was clean, and the bathroom was up to date. Two things I found interesting. The rooms or at least mine did not have carpet, it had LVT. That I think is a great idea in general, carpet, you just never know how clean it is. It had a large flat screen tv, with plenty of options for channels. I found the microwave to be funny, for it just had a turn knob. Have not seen those in years, but it worked great. And most important the AC worked and the bed was comfortable. Another bonus. Plenty of food options that were even walkable to. One down fall if you have problems with mobility, no elevators, so if you cant do steps, I would not recommend. I was on the first level, but still had to walk down a few stairs to get to my room. Over all I would stay again.

The hotel is old but renovated. It looks cheap but is well maintained. We chose it because the price of hotels in Summerville are quite high compared to other locations on route. We paid the same price to stay at the holiday inn express in Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville and they were much newer, nicer hotels with bigger rooms, more services and a better breakfast. The room was on the ground floor/partial basement. There were cars parked right in front of the window so we had to immediately close the drapes. It was reasonably quiet but there was noise from the stairwell that was adjacent to the room. The fridge and microwave were not plugged in so we don’t know if they worked. The front desk erroneously charged us for the room (new staff in training) so we are still waiting for the credit to post on my Visa card ( I hope this goes through shortly as I would not want to double pay). However, the rate charged is quite a bit lower than the Expedia price. It is more in keeping with what I believe to be the price. I am now wondering if we should have skipped Expedia altogether and just walked in and booked it! Overall it was clean, the staff were pleasant the location was convenient and it met our basic needs. Definitely not somewhere we would recommend or make a point to visit again unlike some other places.

I didn’t like looking at urine splashes in the floor in front of the toilet. Grossed me out. Not sure if it just wasn’t cleaned or if your tiles are absorbent and will not clean up well.
