Elkhorn Unit for 2 (Adults)
Publié le 27 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe unit is clean and a great place to rest after outdoor activities. It's pretty tiny, and the balcony is standing room only. The unit gets the job done, i.e., a place to sleep, but it's not much more than that. My biggest complaint—overall four stars—is that the access code was ten digits, so good luck remembering that one. Another reason for the four stars was: 1. The living room, where the TV is small and high above the fireplace. Also, it's not a smart TV, so there is no screencasting Netflix, etc.. 2. The couch is small and very uncomfortable. Lastly, the bathroom is on the main level, and the sleeping area is upstairs, which is inconvenient. I know the description says it sleeps 4, but that would be inaccurate if it refers to adults. It's more like two adults and two small children at best. Overall, it worked for us.

Great Location
Publié le 10 août 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat condo. It’s small, but perfect and had everything we needed. No AC but we were there at the hottest time and they do have fans. Open up the screen door at night and it cools off. Wonderful location. We would come back.

Very unexpected
Publié le 15 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe arrived to find the condo extremely cold inside and immediately turned on the baseboard heat and tried to light a fire. We went to dinner hoping to come back to a cozy warm condo but found that it was as cold as we left it. The baseboard heat did not work, the single heater mounted in the wall was on and producing heat, but not enough to heat the whole unit. We noticed a small portable heater by the bathroom and now know why its there. We turned that on, turned up the single wall unit and went to take a shower. That didnt work out well either. The shower head was leaking so badly around the head itself, not the connection that there was almost no water pressure. We showered and decided to use the oven (electric) to get some heat into the unit and tried again to light a fire. There was no gas to the fireplace and maintenance came and verified that. the next day I purchased a new shower head and installed it so we could at least shower. We made several calls to Vacasa and they were of no help. We finally after 3 days of trying to get them to communicate with us and get some heat working, had to move out. Trying to find a room during the Holidays was difficult and ended up spending big $ per night at Sun Valley Lodge for the remainder of our trip. I did finally speak with Vacasa and they offered us almost nothing for our troubles. The condo was a 6 night rental that was expensive for the stay. I will not use Vacasa again for their lack of customer service.

Nice little condo for a ski getaway. Perfect for our family of 3

Cons: low shower water pressure, lighter for gas fireplace didn’t work (luckily we had our own lighter), key for ski locker missing
Overall, it was a great place for the price.

Horrible experience
Publié le 10 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayI’ve stayed in many rentals and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.
*It was difficult getting amenity pass. I had to contact them 3 different times.
* Parking was confusing. I still don’t even know if we were parked in the correct spot for our stay.
* The door was unlocked when we arrived. I felt this was very unsafe.
* The directions they sent on how to lock the door were not the correct directions for the keypad on our door.
* We were given 2 towels for our 6 night stay and laundry facility only accepted quarters. We needed $5 in quarters for each load. It was very difficult to find stores to give us that many quarters. Then after spending $15 in quarters to do laundry we didn’t even have dry clothes because the dryer didn’t fully dry our clothes.
* We wasted so much time with check in. (parking and figuring out key lock)
* We called vacasa 4 times and all they did was read me the same directions I had in the email. They were not helpful at all with parking and figuring out keypad.
This was not an enjoyable stay at all. I will never book a vacasa property again.

A few glitches
Publié le 16 nov. 2022 sur HomeAwayThe lock code didn't work, so maintenance had to be called (1.5 hours), the unit was less than 20 degrees interior and took 6 hours to get to 70 degrees, with the oven door open and on to help out. And finally, the shower wouldn't drain (plumber couldn't respond for 24 hours). That's the down side. The UP side, was that the off-site property management was helpful and tried really hard to take care of us. They finally placed us in another unit altogether. So while it turned out fine, it was not a great unit for starters and it's fortunate the waits weren't critical, only uncomfortable).

I did not like parking access or finding the condo. Bldg 2 sign is not visible from any outside parking area. parking garage was closed and I wasn't told it would open on demand. Parking garage had 2 exits--1 of the exits leads to a courtyard surrounded by buildings, none of which have numbers on them and finding Bldg 2 was difficult. Inside condo the walls are thin and you can hear conversations and TV from other condos. No hair dryer. kitchen is fine. atmosphere in condo is dark due to tall trees outside blocking light. only bathroom is downstairs from master bedroom, which isn't convenient at night. Plenty of towels. throw pillows are not clean looking. Wifi needed no password, but nothing was stated about that in instructions for condo or inside condo. Communication with local manager was quick and good, but I had to resolve issues on finding condo on my own by asking bystanders.
