The Space:
Welcome to our spacious and comfortable vacation rental in Surry, Maine, just a short walk from the beach! With four bedrooms, including three connected bedrooms, this property is perfect for families or groups traveling together. Whether you're here for a weekend getaway or an extended stay, you'll love the convenience and comfort of our home.

Each bedroom is thoughtfully designed and decorated, with cozy beds and plenty of storage space for your belongings. The connecting doors provide easy access between the rooms, making it easy to keep an eye on the kids or check in with your travel companions while still offering privacy.

Short stay in Acadia
The rental property was clean. Upstairs bedroom set up with the bathroom was a bit unusual. Main issue was the water. It smelled terribly of sulfur. We brought bottled water with us just in case and were so glad we had done this. However you couldn't avoid the smell in the shower--smell would get in your hair and would overpower the shampoo smell. The windows are also failing in the front of the house so they appear dirty but really aren't- just moisture leaking in and causing a cloudy look. Overall not our favorite vacation rental but we booked kind of last minute.

If you have trouble with stairs at all, the stairs to upstairs bedrooms are steep and narrow.

A nice cottage that is able to sleep 8 people pretty comfortably. The stairs are fairly steep so anyone who has difficulty with them needs to use caution. The kitchen could use a few more dishes for cooking but we were able to make do.

Acadia Hiking Getaway Girl's Vacation
We were 5 teachers/co-workers looking for a getaway to unwind and relieve stress from our difficult school year. The cottage was perfect for our purpose! It was immaculate and cozy for all of us to feel comfortable living there for 5 days. The ride to Acadia ranged from 30-45 minutes depending on the trail chosen. We didn't mind the drive and it helped to become familiar with the area. The outside was inviting and set up well to enjoy it. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate and we could not make use of it. I recommend this cottage for a stay to anyone for a nice getaway trip. You will not be disappointed!

Totally agree with John’s review. Nice place off the beaten bath. We were unsure exactly what we would be doing in the area. This house is very comfortable for our group, but the drive to Bar Harbor what is a little far for every day travel. We two were there at a very hot time of year and the air conditioning did not keep up. Very clean, communication was excellent

Quiet location great for family
Very clean and neat. It gave a good impression on opening the door. The kitchen was well stocked with 12-piece set of plates, bowls and mugs, as well as cookware, spices and utensils. Beds were very comfortable. VERY NICE outdoor area with patio, firepit with supplied firewood, and well-maintained lawn. Host was very responsive. If you are renting, you should be aware that the water has noticeable sulfur and iron content. Not a problem for washing and cooking, but we bought bottled water for drinking. Also you should know that the 3 upstairs bedrooms are configured such that you have to go through the first one to get to the second one, and you have to go through the second one to get to the third one. This was not a problem for our family, but if multiple unrelated couples are sharing the house then it could be an awkward situation. We were there for one of the hottest weeks of summer and found that the upstairs was uncomfortably warm despite the use of a portable AC unit. Most of the year this would probably not be the case.

Little Blue House in Surry
We enjoyed our stay. We liked the quiet location, an easy drive to Acadia and other points of interest. The beds were comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. Note that the coffee maker is a Keurig. We ate at Perry’s Lobster Shack twice (delicious!) but only made it to Pugnuts once for gelato, though we talked about stopping there every time we drove past. We brought 3 kayaks with us and rented an additional one from the Activity Shop in Blue Hill and paddled in the Blue Hill Harbor, which was a highlight.

Off the grid!
Cute home needs a few improvements to put the icing on the cake. Water pressure poor, water had a strange smell, blind in bathroom broken, steps not older adult friendly, get rid of rugs at kitchen sink tripping hazard, and 2 of the mattresses were like a rock. But very nicely decorated, clean, washer and dryer, great outdoor patio area. Could use a TV upstairs, a fan in downstairs bedroom and a window AC unit for hot days. Sink in the upstairs bathroom was very slow to drain. Most of these things we found wrong are fairly easy fixed which would make this place much nicer.
