Best quality boutique hotel in Sydney which has a convenient location near public transport and restaurant belt. The room was clean and well-equipped. The service was topnotch. I was unwell one day and in bed for most of the day time. I requested a turndown service but didn’t expect to be done as housekeeping staff had already gone but voila the room was made up when I came back from dinner. Thank you for the superb and accommodating service. Kudos to housekeeping and reception staff. You’re all valuable assets to the team.

The KIRKETON is my go to hotel in Sydney. Brilliant location, boutique and cool. Yes, it’s a little outdated however always spotless, great service, comfy beds, great showers and amazing value for money.

VERY DISAPPOINTING Hotel not as advertised rooms need updated tea & coffee in a cuboard with no light, light in wardrobe didnt work, bathroom claustrophobic, had to leave all curtains closed as windows dirty and no net up so anyone could see in from across street, it says it has a bar & restaurant we never seen bar as they said it was only open 1 night a week and restaurant a small cafe next door and closes at 2pm sorry but definitely not one we would go back too

Basic hotel but very old
It was a very basic hotel with tiny room and zero views as it's right against another building. For 200 a night I think it's over priced. Location is great but also music from the pub is loud till late. The room itself is very small but with a good size bathroom. It does feel very outdated as well. Basically nothing terrible but also nothing good. If it was like 120 then it's not bad but 200 is not worth it

I was really impressed with this lovely little hotel. It wasn't perfectly polished in every space, but it was clean and tidy. Everything worked in the room, plenty of bedding - actually the king bed in our Superior Room was maybe a little too firm, but that's my only complaint. Just be aware there isn't a lift in the building, so be ready for a few stairs. Otherwise we had a lovely stay. Oh - and the cafe attached makes damn good coffee!

Property is about 30 years overdue for a renovation. Paying guests don't want to drag their heavy luggage up to the second floor - for the overprice you charge, put in a lift. The bar on the ground floor stank & should be mentioned in the "amenities". The slat windows with no flyscreens in the bathroom is just ridiculous. The chipped sink in the dirty bathroom was gross & there's nowhere to put the open soap except loose on the shelf. The shower curtain not reaching the floor was ick. Website says no parking, yet I saw a guest receive a parking voucher - would have been handy to know when I booked. I guess the best part of the whole room was the coffee & tea facilities. I'll never stay here again, and I will tell everyone to avoid The Kirketon Hotel.

Great location and professional staff. Rooms very dated, very dark and more accurate to say it’s a 3 star hotel. It was not quite as ‘boutique’ and a far cry from when I last stayed here 10yrs ago.
