Location is the only reason to stay here
Posted Aug. 27, 2024 on HomeAwayThe cabin is described as rustic, but, that should not mean poorly cleaned and poorly maintained. Both doors were very difficult to lock and unlock; i never could do the back door. We took down a large mirror because it was hanging precariously. The first time we changed a toilet paper roll, the holder fell off the wall. There were large cobwebs hanging in every corner, splatters on the wall behind the sink, mold on the inside of the shower curtain, and old, flat pillows. I have stayed in many VRBO before, all of which provided some helpful conveniences. For example, there is no need for dozens of mismatched plates, cutlery, and cups in a tiny cabin, leaving no space for our food. Some salt, pepper, saran wrap and tinfoil would have been useful. Similarly, no need for dozens of towels, and hence, no room for our toiletries. A small bottle of shampoo and conditioner would be helpful.
The big asset that the cabin has is a great location. Even with small children, we could easily walk to the beach, restaurants, and the ice cream shop.

Sorry to read your review. If there were cobwebs they did appear in last week or so. I do clean walls , floors and kitchen after each stay. I was sorry to see the framed mirror had been removed from monkey hook but I will tend to that! Yes, it is an older cabin, not perfect , but comfortable for many Lakers I have found with unmatched kitchen plates , but very good pots and pans.

Curtain rods held up with tape. 1 Window screen falls out. Cob webs inside and outside. I hate giving bad comments but hope host takes this and fixes these small ine

I hope your little irritants did not take away from you enjoying my cabin ! Yes , it does need a better rod to cover one door window but as you can see all windows are updated on this vintage cabin and the lino does have some wear in patches! The cobwebs appear like magic. Yes, maintenance of these small things will be looked after for next season. Thanks

Cozy and close to the lake
Posted Aug. 29, 2023 on HomeAwayWe as a family enjoyed our stay at Linda's cabin. I love that its was so close to the lake (2 minute walk) and close to lots of shops. Everything you need is at the cottage. The backyard is huge and you can enjoy the fire pit (as long as there is not a fire ban). Linda was a great hostess. We would definitely stay here again.

Great little place by the beach

Our Stay
Posted Jul. 18, 2023 on HomeAwayGreat location to the beach but the evening are loud with young people yelling to each other tracing their engines and playing loud BASE music drinking and doing drugs and not one night in seven was that ever patrolled in any way ant it’s the Main Beach Back Row Bandits as we called them party every evening????

Sorry your evenings were so disturbed! I am not sure why the evenings were NOT quieter with local authorities around the beach areas day and night. I have not had the same complaint from other guests but have heard that some local residents in area were concerned about weekend noise in beach parking area.

True Cabin at Sylvan
Posted Sep. 22, 2022 on HomeAwayLinda's cabin is a block away from the lake in walking distance to bars and shops. The cabin was exactly what we wanted, a cool little cabin. It's older and has some wear showing but that's what made it charming. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. Linda was a fantastic host. She was in communication all the way through and being there was a breeze. My Mom and I would stay again.

A.mazing location
Posted Sep. 16, 2022 on HomeAwayThis cute house is located just up from the beach and in the heart of the attractions. It is well equipped and a nice size for a couple. We enjoyed our stay and the outdoor spaces. The place could use some TLC and upgrading (new furniture and some upgrades in bathroom) but nothing too major and it did not impact our stay.

Walking distance to beach
Posted Aug. 21, 2022 on HomeAwayExcellent location to bring the kids. Close walking distance to lake, beach and park. Great playground at park and shallow waters at beach. Nice fire pit in backyard with grill.
