Publié le 22 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe rustic cabin (built by Whitney the owner) is wonderful getaway to enjoy long range views of Denali! The cabin was clean and neat as a pin! If you’re considering traveling through Talkeetna, I would highly recommend this cabin.

Wow, the view
Publié le 16 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe stayed for 3 nights at the cabin. The back deck views are beautiful, but we only had views of some of Denali on our first night. Clouds obscured the views the rest of the time. The cabin was rustic but comfortable and clean. Nice that you are close to town and some hiking trails. There were 2 cons. One was the smell of kerosene from the heater the other the tiny bathroom and very small shower. Overall if the heater were repaired we would stay again.

Thanks for taking the time to review your stay Gary. Glad you enjoyed the cabin and the views when not obscured. Regarding your feedback on the bathroom : Our three cabins all have the same 32” shower (vs the standard 36”) This is due to the overall cabin style layout with minimized efficiency. This is an authentic cabin (which our family of 4 has lived in year round) and not a large home. All of the amenities are provided on a cabin sized scale. Regarding the heater : our Toyo stove, thermostatically controlled and running on #1 heating oil, is the most popular heater in AK. It is maintained each season and is not in need of repair. Unfortunately, there can be a fuel smell with certain weather conditions. We are sorry this detracted from your stay but can assure you there are no maintenance issues with the stove. Yours is the first comment I have received this season. Had you notified me during your 3 day stay, I might have been able to assist with making you more comfortable. Thanks so much again for including us in your AK plans.
