First, we loved the condo. It's very new, w/ modern everything, and the owner commissioned work from a local artist (Jose Rodriguez, who we bought a painting from in Tamarindo). Sunsets in Tamarindo are some of the best on the world, and you can see all of it from the living room, back patio, or infinity pool that is right outside the door. Everything is clean, new, the wifi works well, and the technology all works well (including automated shades in the master bedroom). As others have mentioned, the drive up the hill is an adventure, but after you first time up and down, it's a breeze. Security guard at the gate 24 hours/day. Auto Mercado (grocery) is 1 minute away once you're down the hill, which is great for the full kitchen at this place. The kitchen has literally everything you could possibly need for cooking at the condo if you'd like. As others have mentioned, the complex has a lot of construction going on. Of course, we would have preferred that there wasn't any construction, and while it didn't diminish our enjoyment, it was a little less zen with the construction workers around. You can get to the heart of Tamarindo in about 5 minutes. You do have to drive up and down the hill, but we've always rented a car when we visit Costa Rica so we can get around to different parts of the country for adventures, etc. Chris, the property manager, is a lot of fun, and was really helpful. If you want his help connecting with different excursions, he is more than happy to help.
